A computer was having an issue getting definition updates, so I attempted to uninstall and then reinstall on the machine. Upon reinstall, when the install is at the stage of "Removing applications" It's popping up the message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'eavbe_nt32_enu.msi' in the box below."

When I select a path to look in (and the installation file is local, not sure why it's trying to use a network resource) it tells me "The file '.....\eavbe_nt32_enu.msi' is not a valid installation package for the product ESET NOD32 Antivirus. Try to find the installation package 'eavbe_nt32_enu.msi' in a folder from which you can install ESET NOD32 Antivirus." This installation package has been used to install ESET on many other computers, so I know the .msi is good.

I've tried using Microsoft's installation cleanup utility, but I'm getting the same error. Any ideas?

Was the version you uninstalled the exact same version you're trying to reinstall?

When I run into this (at least it sounds like the same thing) I find I usually have to install the previous version and then uninstall it properly, reboot and then install the newer version.

Please post back the Operating System used | Browser | Security Software installed. What previous build of EAV was installed, if any, what previous anti-virus products were installed, if any.

Manually uninstall, post back the removal log for review by ESET.

It took me a while to find time to try it, but the manual install procedure worked.

    Thank you.
