I agree, allot of scan types are needed and desired and aren't time critical that they have to run the exact instant everything else is trying to run.

An option run while idle would be nice.

    Still can't find it.

Jeez it's back again. Sadly the option had switched itself back on again. Don't ask me how but it had.

Grrrr the option has switched itself back on again. Result no internet access yet again. Had to reboot to kill the damn scan. However the scan shouldn't prevent you from browsing the web but it does.

Perhaps you've got the option turned off.
Effects all web browsers IE9 beta and chrome so tweaking firefox further wouldn't be much use really.
Any now the option is back off no problems.

No problems here on 20+ Windows 7 x64, x86 and Windows XP SP3 with the startup scan at default settings. Are you using the default scan settings?

Yes well not now as I had to disable the scan after update.

To expand on this and this has been debated in a number of threads as to the efficacy of wether it works or not.
Why does my automatic system startup scan take an unusually long time to complete, I have implemented this and see no issues. 2.3 Ghz CPU & Four Gb of installed RAM.
Additionally, those expeiencing this issue may also try Slow or no Internet/network/printer connection: Solution checklist

This would be under a Vista or Win 7 installation, correct ?
Graphic added is under a Windows XP Pro SP3 installation.
You cannot view this in the set-up UI ?

Microsoft changed the WFP setup in newer Windows versions (And XP SP3 if I remember correctly) which causes that option not to be there.

Windows File Protection under XP SP3 per my previous post does not hide the Browser Option.

If this is what you mean or if I am not being clear or have not understood what you said, please elaborate.

    Thanks

If I submit a ticket it will just come back to myself as I am on the support desk for NL.

All I meant to say was that on some operating systems the "Web Browsers" option is missing because of WFP. :)

You perhaps should have identified yourself as such for future posts, yes ?

Yes, Vista and Win 7 do not have this option, perhaps a future feature request ?

    Greetz...

Perhaps we ought to investigate why it kills some machines and not others.

More info. The problem doesn't happen when you do a full in depth scan.
