Looks like AyeRecovery. Even is by Anyue Technology which makes AyeRecovery. Hmmmmm. The plot thickens.

I downloaded the time machine file. Both Avira & Prevx flagged it as malware so I wiped it.

Using the pc tools download buttons and branding, but no reference to pc tools.

The awards are fake too, no editor's pick on brothersoft:

Thing has 2 downloads last week on brothersoft. 13 total downloads in almost half a year. Wouldn't call that 'editor's pick'.

No, it certainly wouldn't appear to be that popular. :D

Threedog, while Softpedia states that the software is 100% clean, as soon as Cudni posted the WOT rating, I removed the thread offline, downloaded the .exe and ran it by VirusTotal, Jotti's, NoVirusThanks and VirScan.org. Although all reported some infections, the software was installed in various virtual environments and no malware was discovered. Individual files were looked at and they are genuine. We believe the reports to be False Positives, thus, returning this thread back to its original forum.

Threedog, that's why I answered your post. ;) You're welcome! Take care.

PS. If any member installs and runs the software, do report your findings.

It stated on its website that it is owned by Anyue Technology which is related to AyRecovery as we all know.

This thread does not seem to belong here, should be moved to Sanboxing & Virtualization subforum.:p

On my computer PrevX flagged the installer, a-squared did not. I installed it anyway on a virtual computer, which did not crash or otherwise suffer negatively (so far).

The program itself appears to be a limited version of AyRecovery/Rollback Rx; I can only take snapshots and restore them, but that's it, there's no options menu. For example, I don't see how to turn off automatic snapshots on reboots. Also, as far as I can tell, it's only possible to delete and defragment snapshots from the boot menu.

If I were to install one of these programs on my real computer, I'd go with either AyRecovery or Rollback Rx.

    Hi Terry

Since it works with the same technology as Rollback et all, I would say all the same precautions apply.

100% is always an iffy proposition. I got no alert from one product, and lots of them from another when I tested it. But I let Malware Defender challenge every action, and saw nothing but a proper install. On running and rebooting etc, I saw a very limited product, but no evidence of malware of any kind.

I doubt that you have to uninstall just to take an image. Whilst using CTM or Eaz-Fix Pro, I've imaged and restored many times. The restore process just does away with the ability to use the ISR app and it has to be re-installed before it will work again. It's been mentioned that one can do the sector by sector image which is supposed to image the ISR's app/snapshots for restore. Whether that works correct, I don't know, never did it.

Not sure-- the "About" screen says I have 366 days for evaluation, then below it says 7 days (pic 1)... Also, if I click "Register", and "Obtain Registration Code Online", it appears to do just that and thanks for activation...
