Hi there I'm and old NOD32 Enthusiast, since 2.7 (probably the best version out of Eset), now running V.4 with Prevx 3 aside. NOD is configured to scan emails and saved data (Write only).

Can someone explain what functional overlap have the two products and if it is worth it to keep any functional overlap, particularly on the performance side? Is there any reason to pair an old fashioned AV with Prevx?

I see that every time a "new" program is launched Prevx signs it (I imagine it scans the program and keeps the signature to avoid further scans)....

    Your thoughts?

I have similar settings NOD32 + PrevX (paid) + Windows Firewall and I didn't see any problem. It is smooth, quiet, no conflicts, but I am still interested to hear opinions or suggestions.

Same here without conflict and they complement each other in the layered approach for computer security! ;)

Don't worry, you can always trust Triple Helix, he is a successful user of NOD + Prevx for many years. While he is a volunteer his contributions to Prevx forums are paramount what Joe has been appreciating many times. If I can give my two cents, I was also using the said combination without any problems before I left Eset in the favour of NIS which btw coexist beside Prevx very well too.

For example, on the performance/overlap side: could it be that both the products would perform same tasks?

It depends how you have set Heuristic Settings, I have set all the 3 on "medium" and I can't recall I have had a FP for months.

Thanks, as always to TH and pegas :) Blutarsky - I'm unsure why you would receive FPs on jpg files but please send the scan log as TH has suggested and we will investigate ASAP :)

I've sent the log, plus the offending files... will I get an answer from technical support?
