Digsby with email and facebook notification, with IM protocols like facebook chat, gtalk, aim, wlm, yahoo. I recently removed ICQ protocol due to daily mallware requests.

Why do people use Skype ?

I see 10+ votes for Skype. Aren't you concerned about your privacy with it ?

For clear sound and video chat, Skype's P2P tech is the only way out for now, this is how I stay in touch with my family when I am traveling. I have family spread across the globe so its indispensable.

Privacy?? If I remember right, every user automatically creates their own certificate and calls are encrypted with one another. Correct me if I'm wrong.
