Finally had to give up on Kaspersky. I love it's detection rate, but too many times I would see a pop up saying 'Protection is Enabled". OK, when was it not enabled? I never did anything or changed anything, so that bothered me.

Also, too many times, when Kaspersky was updating, it slowed my system to crawl. Today for example, I was watching a video, had a few other apps going and was trying to move a file from one folder to another, Kaspersky was updating and basically stalled everything, with all windows not responding and just a mess. Nothing would come back. After several minutes of this, I had to hard boot.

    Just unacceptable.

    Back to Avast 5...:D

Its funny you say that. Im actually ditching Avast because ever since I installed it my online FPS games have been hitting pings of 200-1023 on a server that I normally ping 40-50 on. I tried gaming mode and its a no go.

Yeah, go figure huh? Each system is obviously different, but I have no issues with Avast. Just liked Kaspersky's detection rate a little better, although in my tests, Avast beats Kaspersky one day and then Kaspersky turns around and beats Avast the next...:D

Well... the gaming mode means silent - no popups, no sounds . Nothing else. So, I guess you misunderstood the feature. For lags, you'd have to disable the network/web shields or something like that if it affects you that bad.

Or switch because using a half working piece of software is not an option.

Ditch Comodo Firewall (no need really) and always happy with Bluepoint Security 2010 in real-time...:-*

On demand : Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro.

Better yet report it to the vendor so that it can be investigated and fixed... (On that note, Avast absolutely doesn't affect ping time here, so - cannot reproduce this personally).

I would ditch the web scanner in any of the A/Vs. They just slow down your internet speeds and are redundant anyway. UAC and sandboxing seem like better alternatives to me.

Yeah... well, any type of this traffic inspection will have overhead. However, getting ping times ~20 times higher suggests a serious issue somewhere, pretty likely a conflict or buggy NIC driver or whatever similar. Definitely not expected even with pretty bad products. :D

Yea to bad it was fine before Avast and its been fine since I uninstalled it. A buggy NIC driver wouldnt be affected by uninstalling or installing Avast.

Does the license works with GData 2011?

You talking about Gdata 2010 or 2011 product line?

Ah I don't know about 2011. The key was for 2010 Internet security.

Do you have DW v3 installed coz it has firewall and so might be conflicting with comodo's firewall.

One suggestion if you use DW v3 turn off the firewall(both Inbound and Outbound) and see if there are any errors encountered:)
