I just changed my setup to:

    Realtime

    MSE
    Applocker
Windows Firewall with custom rules ( outbound blocked )
Shadow Defender ( only use it when i find necessary or to test things )

    On Demand

    Hitman Pro
    SAS
    A-Squared

I've actually got quite a few laughs turning off MSE and launching viruses watching Applocker blocking them from spreading.

    My secondary PC:

    Realtime:
    Online Armor ++ current beta
Returnil ( free license, yay ) virus guard off

    On-Demand:
    SAS

Both run firefox + adblock plus, TACO and WoT
Also Opera with Fanboy's urlfilter on my main system

I think I would leave Shadow Defender active for normal use also, just in case something got by MSE and Applocker. It would be easy to just reboot and have SD flush everything.

My security setup has the following in mind:

Real system(WinXP home SP3): as light as possible = avast + sandboxie + winpatrol + ZA free.

this way I can have the most resources for my virtual PC's where I test stuff
    and do risky browsing

    VPC's are:

    A-Comodo IS
    B-Online Armor ++
    C-PC Tools FW + TF
    D-MSE
    E-Avira
F-DW - this one I use for banking, together with IE8 and FF with noscript and keyscrambler for both
    G-DW3 RC2
    H-Spyware Terminator and System protect
I-TEST (for other stuff like Immunet, Chrome, Iron)
J-TEST 2 (for testing several security apps combo's, security hardening and such)
    K-Panda cloud

Only the updating is a beech o_O

    HAPPY EASTER ALL !!

I just had become very comfortable with the GUI and features of ShadowDefender over the past months I used it.

I like the right click commit function on ShadowDefender.

    Returnil ran flawlessly.
I thank it is a great program.

  16. Prevention
    COMODO Firewall 4.0.138377.779

    Cure
    COMODO Time Machine 2.6.138262.166

Dropped Comodo AV, or any AV for that matter. Defense+ and Sandbox pretty much covers virtually any threat out there. Bye Bye Antivirus!

Lol, did a stupid test (It's stupid since it was made by me in my free time and i'm NOT a expert nor specialist, who doesn't loves to test their software here anyways??:D)

Downloaded, ran 16 infected files and proceeded to do a full system scan.
I'm not counting registry/processes only files detected xD

    A-Squared detected 15 files
    MBAM 11
    PrevX 11
    So much fun man!! :D

Also tested Comodo Time Machine and really like it, it will be on my main machine now.

    Current rig:
    A-Squared V5
    NOD32 Smart Security
    Comodo Time Machine!

Hey Noobie you have to many scanning programs and no programs preventing the initial infection.

  21. Well the point is, Anyone using AV as only protection or first line of defense are ill formed. Prevention is a far better approach. AV is no longer a protection, but a usability in the case of Comodo Internet Security.

We can all say... Yes, 98% detection AVIRA for a SUBSET of malware, and 95% for COMODO, but while your testing, new malware is being born and there is no way AV can keep up. Hence why I dropped ANY AV and just use Comodo Firewall, Defense+ and Sandbox = Saves: Resources, CPU, and time. :)

    Prevention FTW!!

    I Am Currently Using:
    1. Avira AntiVir Premium Security Suite 10
    2. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.45
    3. Panda USB Vaccine 1.0.1.4
    4. WinPatrol 2010

I Wanted To Ask A Question, Some Would Say It Is A Stupid Question.
My Avira AntiVir Premium Security Suite 10 After A Month, And I Am Not Welling To Lose Any Money From My Pocket So I Am Thinking To Install Avira AntiVir Personal. Then I Will Have To Install A Separate Firewall, And My (Stupid) Question Is That, Can We Install Just The Firewall From COMODO Internet Security? If We Can't Install Firewall Separately, Which Is The Best Free Firewall? I Have Heard That Avira Has Better Detection Rate Compared To Other Free AV Products (Incl. COMODO Internet Security) So I Am Not Will To Change My Anti-Virus.

Yes, you can install only the firewall module, when you run the installer it will ask you what you want to install and you select only the firewall :D

It's only 2  my pc can handle it
I used to have the prevention layer (HIPS), i tried with OA, Comodo, Malware Defender, Defensewall (and a few more) and even dropping rights with KIS but my bro complained every single time so i've skipped this part :)
He even complains from firewall pop ups :cautious: I keep telling him these pop ups ONLY appear once and when you set them it will not ask again but he's hard headed :D

Currently i'm planning to replace NOD32 with another on access but not sure which one :D

If you don't want popups and you are thinking of getting rid of nod32 enable app locker on your win7 and configure a white list, and install use Sandboxie.

well hopefully in about 8 weeks I should have enough money to get win7 Ultimate 64bit which will cost 600 nz dollars, then my security setup will change in a big way.
