    Hello all,
We're very pleased to announce a new release candidate/beta version which should be a significant improvement for many of you :)

Below is the changelog. As always, you can download it from http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?grab=edgebeta for 32bit/64bit new installations or from http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?grab=edgebeta64 for a manual upgrade for a 64bit installation.

    - Significantly improved Opera support
    - Added 64bit support for Opera and Chrome and significantly improved IE support
    - Enabled automatic credential protection on insertion
    - Compatibility fixes between SafeOnline and other keyboard filters (KeyScrambler and VMWare in particular)
    - Improved the logical layout of the GUI for multiple languages pre-installation
    - Fixed some issues automatically detecting proxy settings
    - Significant uninstaller routine improvements to reduce the need to reboot after uninstallation
    - Improved cleanup of system areas that have been tampered with by malware
    - Improved some logic in credential protection and tying passwords to domains
    - Core SafeOnline protection engine improvements to reduce memory usage and overhead
    - Major improvements in Enterprise support, including preliminary support for roaming agents

Please let me know if you find any issues or have any questions! :) In order to receive the full benefits on an x64 PC, you may need to uninstall, reboot, and reinstall but after that, you should now be fully protected on IE, FF, Opera, and Chrome :)

Yes :) You can install it over your existing copy and it will use your existing license key to determine what functionality is allowed.

:D Yes, this is a new BHO for IE - it uses the same file to reduce overhead, but SafeOnline now integrates as a BHO into IE to automatically secure credentials as they're entered to make the credential locking much easier to work with :)

Chrome v5 beta is now supported in x64 ;) Working like a charm.

    BTW, about
    - Enabled automatic credential protection on insertion

With this version, I don't see a single password in Chrome (I mean pre-entered ones that I set to save).
It's because of Prevx? How can I get it back? Usernames are shown good.

I had some problems installing this over 106 (which was not RC on my computer).

I am using 32bit VISTA as limited user with UAC enabled.

Tried installing this Beta over the top. All that happened was my previous version was uninstalled, leaving a dead entry in the CPs uninstall program list.

Then ran the PrevX3.0 uninstaller and tried a fresh install. This didn't work either. I had to log in as my administrator account to install.

Anyway, its working now but I think there are still some issues with installing under a limited account with UAC enabled.

How does the automatic protection of credentials work? I have not noticed anything different even on IE8
    .

Before I go, Happy Easter everyone!! :D

Since I have a current license to SafeOnline, can I install this version over the top?

I can see the BHO is enabled in IE but it doesn't do anything!!!!!!!!!!

Please can someone help me by telling me how the automatic credential protection is supposed to work.

I can't get this to work - only normal manual protection works for me and I'm not sure that this is working properly!

I have tried it in IE8. I also want to know if its supposed to work in other browsers or just IE?

It's very unlikely that this is because of Prevx - the filtering which we've added is only related to IE8.

Let me know if anything does persist and I'll investigate further though :)

Installing under a limited user account will definitely not work properly - Prevx requires administrative rights to install and the install process could cause some issues if you don't log in fully as an administrator.

Automatic credential protection will show a small dialog as you log into websites only in IE8, although I suspect it may not yet work properly under UAC/LUA because of the restrictions on cross-process boundaries.

It might be worth trying to log in as an administrator to see if the dialog works better for you - let me know what you find :)

I never had any problems with installing as a standard user with UAC before. The program requests elevation which I approve - It always worked, but doesn't now you say.

Does this mean that auto-updates won't work now?

I will look at the auto credential protection under my admin account later and report back.

Autoupdates will work, but this build has a particularly large number of changes and isn't a final release so it may not be applied properly during a manual upgrade. The upgrade process built into the product is much more elegant than applying a manual upgrade but it should work properly once we've finalized the changes in this build.
