How to access system folders in Win 7?

Anyone know how to bypass "access is denied" in Windows 7 when trying to open certain folders (ie 'Local Settings' and "Application Data')?

logged in as admin, viewing your own data or ...?

 

Yes I'm logged in as Admin. There are a bunch of 'hidden' folders that have an arrow icon or a lock icon that I can't open up. I'm trying to find the security setting in Win 7 to DISABLE this so I can access any folders in my system that I want.

 

if you mean folder c:\document and settings access it via c:\users if not what other folders?

 

-Application Data
-Local Settings
-Cookies
-My Documents
-Templates
-Net Hood
-Start Menu

...just to name a few folders that can't access under <user name>.

My question is how do you turn this feature OFF in Win 7 so you can access ANY older you want.

 

Take Ownership

 

These directories are actually junction points, that point to other directories that an administrator can access. Perhaps this article may clarify things.

 

That registry tweak/hack has caused issues with some people and I don't feel comfortable messing things up right now. I guess I'll leave it the way it is.
