Been using the Premium version for a while now after an update.

Got to say for those who want a silent super light SS without bloat VIPRE is it.

There are many things that can be improved but from a pure functional point of view it looks as VIPRE may sit there with the best of them after all.

The suite is just so light and I believe their detection ratings have improved a lot.

VIPRE, coolest AV/SS name yet :D

That has nothing to do with it plain not working like it should.

can you elaborate a little? it might help anyone who is on the fence to decide whether it's the right product for them, rather than just saying an absolute "doesn't work" without qualifying the statement.

White.. too bad you had bad XP with the FW.

For sure bugs in VIPRE like everything else, I've had a terrible xp with Eset and Kaspersky for example but by no means will I ever say those two SS aren't great.

VIPRE is one of those SS which is just going to keep on getting better but I'm simply loving it for it's simplicity, minimalistic looks and super light footprint.

    Hi Whitedragon..

Thank you for turning this thread into a one man crusade against VIPRE because you had issues.

You have to excuse me but this really doesn't matter that much too me so I'm not going to answer back with lots of references about just how great VIPRE is.

However I stand by my first post for any one else reading, worth checking out.

Its alright. This is the 3rd or 4th thread that youve made nuthugging VIPRE when there are huge flaws. Im sure like the last few this will just get locked and tossed out as well. Id like to see some nice documented proof that VIPRE is great and detections are going up. They have yet to get included in a test that they say the will be in every month. Theyve been giving users the run around for months now and have yet to back up their word.

I seem to remember when Alexeck and eburger68 would come out in defence of their product in the face of criticism.

    No more it seems!

You call it what you want, but its not just me who has issues with it. Its very apparent they gave it away free for a reason. I will admit though the AV wasnt the issue, it was the FW for me. However the number of people who have experienced complete OS lag put Sunbelts claim of "Lightest Suite" to shame. Maybe "Lightest suite when its not hogging resources because it doesnt work" is a better slogan.

It should be apparent that this thread is going nowhere. Whether you like a particular software or don't like a particular software, it does no good to continue posting likes/dislikes concerning such software.

It would also be helpful to post in existing threads on a particular software program rather than starting thread after thread on the same program.

    Any help would be appreciated.
