hey thing is, when I had pc-cillin 2002, i found no virii/trojans on my computer with well over 100,000 files.

However, after using F-secure I found 3 virii/trojan one which was a trojan, and the other two were IRC based flooding trojans or something.

BUT the problem is, that I could not disinfect these 3 virii/trojan, but I could only delete them. So, i deleted them and then ran another like 4 different virus scanners including NAV2002/NOD32/KAV and F-Secure again, and found no viruses. Does this show that F-Secure is not strong enough in disinfection?

Were the virii/trojans supposed to be disinfected, or is it typical for a virus scanner to not be able to disinfect detected virii/trojan?

You must understand that there is a large number of the virii or trojans impossible to disinfect. Deleting or Quarantining usually is the only option!

But wouldnt the virus/trojan infect like system files as well? Does this mean that I will have to judge whether it is safe to delete system files or not?

It depends on the specific infection; could you be more specific about the ones detected?

The quarantine-option can/should be used to sandbox the file, and sending it to the software vendor for examination in case of doubt. It's recommended not to delete system files at the spot.

    regards.

It just occured to me that there seems to be no quarantine function for F-Secure anti-virus!

    On a side-note:
You deleted it and then ran NAV2002/NOD32/KAV and F-secure again, and nothing was found.
Well, you deleted it so after that there was not much to be found as it looks like....
