    ESET Mobile Antivirus for Symbian OS Public Beta 1 has been released.

    This new program from ESET protects against a variety of threats for Symbian OS-powered smartphones. It is derived from ESET’s NOD32 Antivirus engine, which is available Windows Mobile, BSD, Linux and Windows platforms. ESET Mobile Antivirus contains the following features:

    • Activation - performed online via graphic user interface
    • Archive Scanning - variable in-depth scanning of archives
    • Heuristics - pioneering proactive protection for mobile platforms
    • Logs and Statistics - provides information about scanning tasks and virus signature database status as well as a report on scanning history
    • On-Access Scanning - scans newly-created and opened files; scanning of files received via Bluetooth, IR and Wi-Fi
    • On-Demand Scanning - scans running processes and storage (including specific subfolders); standardized logs
    • Quarantine - infected objects can be deleted or moved to a quarantine folder; once in quarantine, objects can be deleted or restored
    • Updates - updates can be performed automatically on a daily (default), weekly or monthly schedule, or performed manaually by the user on an on-demand basis
    • User Interface - friendly, easy-to-use user interface
    [SIZE=-2]CONSIDERATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS[/SIZE]
    The beta test version is a precursor of the final product without full functionality and documentation. It is intended for experienced users and should not be installed on devices which perform critical tasks because it may cause errors or crashes.

    ESET Mobile Antivirus for Symbian OS runs on the following platforms:
    • Symbian S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 or 2
    • Symbian S60 5th Edition
    1MB of free memory is required on an Symbian OS powered smartphone for ESET Mobile Antivirus.

    I need the username and password to activate this beta version... I writed to Eset Customer Care and they told me to post here... Thanks (Case #400468 - "Eset Mobile Antivirus for Symbian" , at Eset Customer Care)

    I made a post about this here ages ago. Nobody on the forum could help, the UK ESET office told me to email an address they gave me - I never heard back. Would be very interesed in testing it!

    You just use your user name and password you have for desktop ESS/MOD32 and email you used when you purchased it. It's now in Beta, so they don't charge extra for the license, but you need a valid license to use the Beta.

    heilo,
    i write this message from nokia e72 with opera mobile 10.50, you shoukd know with same enviroment, i couldn't download your beta sotware, when i click on download link a page with meaningless characters opened.
    Would beta testers get free license?

    I note on the beta website it mentions remote administration support.

    Has anyone tried this? Is there any screen shots or set up guides?
