IE 8 is a bit sluggish on my laptop compared to Opera & K-Meleon. I don't like IE much as a whole but IE 8 is a huge improvement on IE 7 & 6 in security terms. I hardly ever use it anyway. It has its uses though I suppose. When I upgraded from IE 7 to 8 I gave it a fortnight to impress me. Needless to say, my default browser is still Opera!

You can right-click on any page & in the drop-down menu is a 'Block Content' function which is essentially a page specific adblocker.

I have IE8, but rarely run it as I use Firefox. However, occasionally I'll use IE Tab to view pages in IE within Firefox.

Depending on library, whichever's in place. Starting with six, I have experience enough to help the locals with email and what-have-you's.

IE8. I use Firefox most of the time, I'm now hooked on few plugins lol. My favorite is still Opera. They are all good browsers.

ie8 its good to keep up with all the patches microsoft releases. i feel ie8 is an unnecessarily maligned browser though even i have to accept that it tends to get slower as we go on using it for an extended time without formatting the pc. i don't really understand y that should be

Very first sentence in the poll post says, "I'm interested in learning from members who use IE browser".
    Thanks for helping out. :cautious:

Need to change options to "The Latest". Currently...it's 8, although 95% of the time I use Firefox, I use IE only for microsoft portals.

  15. IE 6... Yes, IE 6. With AciveX, Java, Javascript, and automatic updates disabled, and restricted by SRP. Thanks Sully.

For my actual browsing, of course, I use Opera... Also restricted by SRP.

IE8,but only for patch Tuesday, and for a couple of troglodyte utility bill sites that work with nothing else. (sandboxed, of course).

Although I really do not thank IE is really all that bad,I am just used to FireFox.

I have started to notice that some sites now don't work well with IE6 but work well with IE7 or IE8 in comp.mode . If there are people with IE6 still running , they really should upgrade to IE8 or at least IE7.
