Or if I'm misunderstood, the Clam is working with MSE and is reporting that MSE has quarantined the threats. See file locations above and alert by the Clam, 'no detected'. But if that's the case, then the Clam should have '3 threats detected' in its history.

So MSE 3, the Clam 0? Good ol Sandboxie 100 per cent, removed the others (terminated the sandbox as files appeared to be running in the background).

    Can't work this out! :p

I've been giving the "Clam" and Immunet a try recently and so far I really like it. It's so light there's really nothing to dislike. We need some tests.:thumb:

Yes, it looks good and behaves itself - now we have to figure out if it does anything :D

Anybody have any issues running with Threatfire? Threatfire seems to keep ClamAv from connecting to cloud. Uninstalled TF and ClamAv works fine.

I am running Avast, ClamAV(Immunet), and Treatfire with no issues at all. It fact the combo is super light, and very quiet.

    Hi ..
I Noticed that you use windows 7 64 bit too,and wondered whether clamav/immunet tray notifications(such as eicar file detection) rarely get seen because they are hidden behind active window?.On my system if i have browser open you cant see the popup as it doesnt seem to become the active window.Do you get that too on your system?

I don't use 64 bit but I get that too, I e-mailed them and they said it's an issue with some video cards and they hope v2.0 will fix this, they also will change the layout.

Finally got ClamAv and Threatfire to work. Had to un-install both and re-install. No problems now. Is this combo enough protection?

I'd give a definitive yes. IMO ThreatFire can most often handle everything alone.

Enough protection by themselves?...I think the jury is out on that. I like the fact that ClamAV can be run in combination with another AV, but I want to see some serious testing done on it. Also, the current version doesn't appear to have any self-protection. Regarding Threatfire I've used a number of different versions and it has never inspired confidence. I would not rely on it as primary protection.

No is not enough you need an AV. I threathfire IMO is not very strong, when I tested it agains new malware maybe can detect the 20%

I'm not knocking anyones informal tests, but in any professional reviews I have seen Threatfire usually does pretty well and gets recommended.

Threatfire slowed me down so I had to get rid of it. Of course at the time I was running Spyware Doctor with antivirus so I should probably be glad I could get on the net within an hour! Anyway, I really like this little dude so far but I agree, we need to find out if it does anything or just looks cool. :D

FWIW my problem with Threatfire has more to do with compatibility. Too often I've seen it lock up the computer and then there's the notorious quarantining of essential Windows files, such as Explorer.exe - I experienced that first hand - which rendered the computer unbootable. To be fair that was a few versions in the past and I haven't tried the current version. Perhaps these issues have been fixed? I'd like to see a review of the current product (but I'm OT of course).

:D Youtube tests are entertaining at times -- as in "comic opera."

I do wish AV-C (a REAL pro) would test behavior blockers (Mamutu, TF, etc).

Yes, one of the funny things of this thest is that they only use MBAM for scan the computer after the infections, like a 100% detection tool, so seems "logical" that you dont need any AV, MBAM is all that you need :D

I've noticed that myself, I like MBAM but really. Do they have a marketing deal with Malwarebytes or something?

Well MBAM is really good and the most important, is extremly fast, nobody want to lose 1h scanning a computer with AVIRA or any other AV
