Anyone tested this yet? How light is it, especially on I/O?

Hehe... you can see that those are JPEGs, I would suggest using PNG instead.

 

I have taken these pics from Norton I have used "Snipping Tool" from my Windows 7 and saved it on my PC. They are PNG files but pic quality is too dull.

 

It can be very nice but boy...this is a very expensive program! For one year of this you can have three years of Avast IS for instance.

 

You are absolutely right. Its too expensive... 2 GB Backup...I have 25 GB online backup @ sky drive. 10 Email ID's will give you 250 GB Backup for free ....

 

Norton 360 is good who are lesser known with computer it is like set and forget application which doesn't fancy me much and also as stated it is quite expensive.

I have tested its BETA was quite light and stable enough don't know about the final build

 

YMMV but I see a N360 3.0 3-user 1yr license on eBay for $27.

 

Sometimes eBay Licenses are not genuine...I have saw some of my friends got into trouble after purchasing license keys on eBay...

 

If you live in the US, you can get them really cheaply from major retail stores (ie. Target, Wal-Mart) via Symantec's rebate program.

 

Norton 360 Version 4 lacks this feature: “Performs real-time, online security checks to protect against the latest-breaking threats.” In contrast, this capability is included within Norton Internet Security 2010 (see Compare our Product Offerings).

However, it’s not clear to me precisely what functionality in Norton Internet Security 2010 is being referenced by that statement.

 

Any links to download trial without credit card. I dont understand why Symantec is forcing to use credit card.

 

I double checked and you are right. Well, I can tell you that it is probably an oversight since even the least expensive of the Symantec product offerings like NAV 2010 has that particular feature. I really do not see why Symantec has to omit such a crucial feature in their least affordable product, Norton 360 v4.

Can you precisely describe “that particular feature”? It isn’t clear to me exactly what functionality Symantec is referencing.

Additionally, the hypothesis that “it is probably an oversight” may be correct. The Symantec webpage for the N360.4 versus NIS10 product comparison may contain an error (?).

 

I posted a question about the absence of the N360.4 feature “Performs real-time, online security checks...” on the Symantec forum (see here), so hopefully a Symantec employee will clarify the situation.

 

It is no doubt an oversight and that feature that you described and I was quoting is part of Norton advanced feature. However, I think it is included in both versions of Norton 360 v4.

Read the advanced protection section. Here, the wording is a little different but the spirit of its content is the same.

"Protects against the latest threats with proactive multilayered protection system"

Blocks browser, OS, and application threats; protects against infected Web sites.

I have a valid subscription of Norton 360 till August of this year and as related to the trial download I contacted the Norton Chat support and made them download the v4 and finally install it. Its absurd to see providing credit card details for downloading a trial version of a product that a specific person wants to try out, what an absurd policy on part of Symantec, absolutely abysmal.

 

you can get symantec trials from all over like cnet and softpedia with no cc info

second link takes you to norton download and i have version 4.0 just downloaded it not sure why you get the old version maybe depends where you are?? not sure
