As my machine boots up I get the Panda face with a red "X" on it and the message from XP indicating I am unprotected. As my boot-up finishes the red "X" goes away as does the "unprotected" message. This happens on both my machines.

I am running DefenseWall HIPS on one machine with just the router firewall and Outpost Free on the other machine.

Am I unprotected for a while until the boot-up completes? Can I fix this?

So both machines have a red x?

Have you excluded the Panda Files in Outpost and DefenseWall?

You should post over at the Panda Cloud support forums where the Panda Staff can take a look at whats going wrong.

I have allowed Panda with Outpost and in DefenseWall it is not listed as Untrusted. The red "X" does go away toward the end of the bootup process but I'm afraid that I'm unprotected at least for a short while.

I will post the same question on the Panda forum.

    Thanks.

Ok guys, this is a question that has came up a lot on the Panda cloud forums and I want to know if any of you know the answer :p

If you remove a file from the recycle bin it does not get detected again, what if you removed a infected file from the recycle bin? If it won't be detected again how do we get Panda to detect it again? We can't send Panda files without moving them out of the recycle bin but it we mistake a real virus for a false positive the file won't be detected again.

Yes there's a way to do this. It's not very user-friendly yet but it works:

    1.- Stop the NanoServiceMain service.
    2.- Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Panda Security\Panda Cloud Antivirus\CfgData".
    3.- Delete the files 0303E000.dat, 0303E000.dat.bck, 0302F000.dat and 0302F000.dat.bck.
4.- Reboot. After this the files should be detected again.

As per what each of the files holds:
0302F000* holds the suspicious/potentially unwanted detections exclusions (Recycle Bin)
0303E000* holds the malware detections exclusions (Recycle Bin -> History)

I currently use Avira free and Prevx 3.0 together at the same time, no problem or conflicts at all. Anyone have any idea or guesses if Panda Cloud would also work with Avira if I were to uninstall Prevx? Thanks.

    Panda don't recommend running another AV with PCAV;

IMO, keep as you are ;)

PandaCloud is like any other AV so is not a good idea install it together with Avira or any other AV.
You can try http://www.immunet.com/protect or threathfire instead.

I can't send FPs, Gmail doesn't allow exe in zip. What do I do now? rar it or delete the extension?

BTW I thought Panda is supposed to be very light o_O PSANHost runs high on CPU and I/O at startup.

And don't you think that's odd? Panda and Immunet do in essence the same. Immunet can work together with others, while Panda can't. I find that strange.

true, especially when Prevx, one of the first and original of its kind, can run alongside any anti-virus or security suite without hassle.

I had Avira with its guard disabled for on-demand scans, Panda uninstalled it :doubt:

It also removes files without asking, after 'neutralizing' an exe inside a zip, it can't recover the file correctly, puts the exe in LostFound folder. :doubt:

Thanks, will give it more time before I vote.

Guys, thanks for the info and opinions; looks like I'll wait at least a while for Panda, since I like the fact that I can run Prevx with Avira, BUT sounds like this thingie has some awesome potential!

FWIW I've been running Prevx (free) + Panda Cloud (PCAV) for several months on 3 different pc's without a hitch. I've encountered a few issue with PCAV, but overall the program works great, it's free, and the Pbust is eager to assist folks. PCAV also performed well in the MRG rogue test.

Panda Cloud was designed to be a antivirus, while Immunet was designed to work with your current Security software. Immunet is like Malwarebytes, while Panda Cloud is like Avira.

Ok, now that has me pondering: is Prevx supposed to be like Malwarebytes, or is Prevx supposed to be like Avira. If Prevx is supposed to be like Malwarebytes then that would explain why it works without any conflict with Avira. But it looks like I can give up on Panda if I want to keep Avira (which I may or may not want to, I don't know at this point). Again folks, thanks for the info and opinions, good and interesting stuff here.

My guess is PrevX is kinda both. It detects virus like Avira and it works with other programs like Malwarebytes.
