I have 4 different customers with NOD32 business licenses. The licenses are for 17, 24, 12 and 7 computers. They all have Remote Administrator installed. I want to be able to replicate up to a central RA server so I can monitor all of them.

But it seems like my RA server can only take one license at a time. Is this correct?

How can I monitor all of these customers from one console?

The only way to get this done is to increase your own business user licenses seats. So these additional clients can connect to your RA.

I was hoping for a much better answer than that.

So, basically I have to buy double licenses just to use replication to monitor multiple customers?

Was that a business decision or is it a deficiency of the RA server software?

    Hi there,

To my understanding you have a Business license with X amount of seats. Your customers have different licenses runnning X amount of seats. Correct me if im wrong, your customers are registered with their own company. All your customers need to be under your company name/account in order for you to use your ERA console to administer them. The ideal situation is for you to purchase additional seats to add to your own, and the customer to reinburse you. Speak to your ESET sales rep if possible for more options.

    Sort of...

I have a business license for one person: me.

I have sold NOD32 to around 10 Customers totaling approximately 150 licenses. The customers have servers with RA server installed at their locations. I want to monitor these installations from one console rather than connecting to 10 different customer sites via dial-up VPN to view their consoles.

I suppose I could open ports on all their firewalls that allow me to connect directly to their RA servers, but my goal is to make these locations more secure, not less secure. It seems to me that the safest solution is to install my own RA server as a collector and have all the other RA servers report back to mine.

I understand that the solution works for big companies. But most small businesses out there can't afford their own IT departments so they hire people like me to do it for them. I believe this should function in one of two ways:
    1) The RA server should be able to install multiple licenses for multiple groups of clients.
    2) or, licenses should replicate up the chain from the remote RA servers for the clients they are reporting.

I shouldn't need to buy an additional 150 licenses to monitor the 150 licenses I sold to my customers. That's just silly.

I'd like to mention that this probably wouldn't even be an issue if Eset would work with any of the major Managed Services Providers out there. Over the last year I've tried 4 different platforms including Kaseya, LPI Managed Workplace, Zenith InfoTech and Eset NOD32 doesn't work with any of them. The representatives from these companies say that they can't work with NOD32 because nobody from Eset is willing to work with them.

So, if I want to monitor my installations of NOD32 rather than just cross my fingers and hope for the best, Eset leaves me with one option: RA server.

How about a little love for the small business market?

We provide ESET to our managed customers. We own all the lisences, and then the customers pay us to provide them with the anti-virus solution as a service, including ensuring things are up-to-date and running properly -- that's the way being an MSP works. ;)

BTW I monitor our RAS with Level Platforms' Managed Workplace and it works like a charm, so I'm not sure what you mean it doesn't work with it?
