This depends on where the malware is located.

Hitman Pro is not folder oriented but system oriented. It scans the system to find the malware (sorta like Prevx does).

The scan is called the Behavioral Scan and is the default scan method.

    hi erick,

i was just messing around with hitman pro. and i just noticed something. maybe i'm doing something wrong. and was wondering if you could help me out.

i just installed a couple of malware on a test x64 W7 VM, with nothing but Hitman Pro. I ran the malware and i'm not able to remove just 1 particular malware.

The thing i'm not able to figure out is that, this particular trojan is detected by AntiVir, GDATA and prevx engines according to VirusTotal. ~Link removed per Policy.~ But it doesn't seem to be detected by Hitman, even though its still running in memory during the Hitman scan. Shouln't the trojan be detected since its detected by Avira, GDATA & Prevx?

Yes it should be able to detect and clean it if any of the engines detect it! :doubt:

A scan with HMP this last night gave Deep Freeze as a Trojan. Have had DF on this machine for several months and HMP has never flagged it before so I assume it is a FP. Prevx and OA++ (A2) both give it as clean.

Can you check which one is detecting it by clicking on the arrow to the far left of the item? This will show us what engine is causing the FP.

My bad - wasn't aware of that arrow before. Have just run another scan and it's come up clean so they must have fixed it :thumb:

Click on the arrow next to the file path, which engine is detecting it?

That's odd. What is the file's SHA-256 hash?
Use HashCalc to determine the hash.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

The entire hash is unknown in the cloud. I think there is something else going on here. Are you running some kind of virtual disk software like Comodo Time Machine or Rollback Rx?

    Yes Rollback RX

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Hitman Pro is currently incompatible with Rollback RX as it serves Windows a different hard disk structure.

Hitman Pro version 3.5.5 will support API-based scanning that is compatible with Comodo Time Machine or Rollback RX.
