I think it is just displayed on the web page at the end of the ordering process, when using paypal at least.

I also used a credit card and got the registration code on the web page, but I purchased two licenses and got only one code.

    -Also-
    No e-mail to-date.
It's been about six hours since I completed the transaction.

The registration code I received did convert the free version to the PLUS version, but wasn't I supposed to receive two registration codes ?
If not, what is the point of being allowed to purchase two licenses ?

Same here. I purchased two copies but got only one code. I have no idea how to generate another new one. o_O I don't find any buttons to generate a new code.

I purchased two keys and only got one... but the "reg code" just converted 2 free versions to PLUS versions on my machines.
So I got what I paid for. :)

I was just over to the Winpatrol site and see that Bill is extending the $0.99 deal over the 30th also. The site says that people who haven't got keys yet to have patience. Magine they are overwhelmed right now.

Wonder how Bill feels about folks buying more than a couple? He mentioned somewhere that he wanted to discourage (or prevent) someone buying 1000 keys and selling them themselves. Naturally. But that aside, at this price, people could be purchasing a dozen codes and sending them to their friends and family. I wonder if that is something that Bill would frown upon, or does he encourage it? :doubt:

I suspect and hope it is working out for him. I bet 75%+ of the people buying this today would never have without this deal. So do you look at it as losing $29 per license, or gain a small amount of revenue you likely would have never received?

I bet many of his prior users used the free version, and upgraded today because the low price. So maybe he picked up some incremental revenue that he may have not received without this deal.

Good points, clocks. Like you, I hope he is picking up some walking around money. ;) I think it is a brilliant move on his part... a total win-win. And the cool thing is, of those we've heard from who recently paid full price, none of them really are complaining about this deal that came along too late for them to partake. They all seem to be happy to support this developer. I am impressed by that fact.

In a sense, this was cheap marketing. Assuming the promotion brings happy users on board, that continue to talk about and recommend the program over the next year or two, it may convert more people at full price down the road.

I tried this program a couple years ago, and found it nice, but did not use it long as I wasn't convinced it was a necessary. Now because of this deal being to good to pass up, I bought a license figuring even if I don't like the current build, I may like future builds. It turns out now that I am testing it again, and seeing it uses little resources, I will probably keep it running just as an extra form of protection.

I just got and installed WinPatrol Plus, and am getting used to it. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the following:

1.) Occasionally the 'Scotty' Task bar icon will flash to something different, and then very quickly change back to the normal blue-circle-with-dog. Does this mean it's doing something that requires my attention? He doesn't 'bark' or send up a dialogue when this happens.

2.) WinPatrol claims I'm running Vista, when I'm running Win 7. Am I using the wrong version? The current version I have is 17.0.2010.0

3.) Does WinPatrol really need UAC approval every single time I open it?

1.) Mine does this too, it just means it's checking over some area's of your PC for changes, so no need to worry about it.

2.) Might be a bug, I'd send a email to Winpatrol Support reporting the bug.

3.) Yea every time you open it you get an alert. I wish it did not also but I don't open it often.

    Follow-up to post #105.

I paid for two keys but received only one on the purchase conformation page, not by e-mail.
After waiting for more than a day, I e-mailed for information regarding the second key and about two hours later received a responding e-mail that my one key was good for two machines.

So I got what I paid for.

Many thanks to Bill for this great offer as well as his fast response to my inquiry. :thumb:

    Re: WinPatrol $0.99 results

Interesting read: "Final Results of the Great 99 cent Experiment" http://billpstudios.blogspot.com/
Apparently his "cut" was about $0.74 / license.
