Online Armor help

I was quite shocked and upset to find out that Online Armor does not support 64bit Windows version. As I have updated my Windows now to Ultimate 7 and 64bit it looks like its bye bye to Online Armor, which is a blow and dissapointment to me.

FWIW, you could take a different tack. Rushing a new version for 64 bit is a bad idea. So in the interim, there are some alternatives. For transparency I use OP FW Pro 64 bit version under W7. Their W 7 version is also under test and should be release in the 1st quarter 2010. This is my prediction not an OP promise.

In the meantime you could use the free windows 7 FW and tune it using Stems Vista FW thread as it is similar.

As well, be aware that W7 is inherently safer that XP as LUA is a default and allows user to use admin rights selectively by application. So OA's run safer is of less use in W7 if they use that at all.

I dont recommend Outpost Firewall Pro as a replacement for OA.
OP had several issues here which made me not amused.
x64 for OA is really appreciated - not for me but for a friend.

I dont understand what it is with some people but because someone makes a comment on a product from there own experience some people have to make them look either like wingers or foolish, to express youre displeasure about a product is not a crime and I dont believe that a comment like Ive had a bad experience should have to be justified, unless it is slanderess or alike they should not be put thru the ringer by those who may be more knowledgeble.
Whatch the US Marines and the Canadian Mounties charge this one down.

You are right, anybody can post I don't like this or that product.

But without the data or reasons for a post like that we learn nothing from the post. It is just a statement/opinion with no support for it. IMHO, asking for detail is not a wringer at all. Without the detail there is nothing we can say to help so the post has no weight.

That's how I see it anyway.

 

Hi, I'm not sure your comments are directed at me, but if someone warns me to stay away from a product, I always ask what the particular problems are to see if they apply to me. I am hoping the poster will elaborate so I know whether to avoid the product or not. Do you have any input?

 

sry for delay - Escalader - as you wrote the issues concern hips, not the firewall part.
Latest pretty version was 3.5 - which is rather old and NOT uptodate.
i'm not willing to waste time on a buggy hips before 2010 is out.
its strange - some products can do really good and are rated poor - and
other sucks all the time and get honored for that

This thread is not about OP at all it was about OA and the 64 bit version.

So, I simply offered some alternatives for Albinoni.

Others many disagree with my ideas, so be it they can offer their own.

But I'm done here now as OP debate is off topic here.
