Is it running as a native 64-bit application?
And is it able to clean up 64-bit installations?

Hasn't anyone tried Ashampoo uninstaller 4 on 64 bit windows 7 yet?

They claim it works on any version of win xp, Vista and win 7. I do not use a 64-bit OS or I would have given it a try.

Why what happened? I had always had positive experience with Ashampoo products in the past, especially their Winoptimizer.

So, am I to understand that Ashampoo uninstaller 4 can not uninstall 64 bit software inside a 64 bit OS?

It runs as 32-bit, is not able to uninstall 64-bit applications, has an awful GUI, loads of advertisement  and it left over strange Registry Entries (i think from the advertisement) after its deinstallation ! :ninja:

Okay, then it is not 64-bit compatible.

Advertisements! It does not have advertisements!

I assume you are referring to the "service channels". During install, it offers you the option of choosing to get info about new Ashampoo releases. If you select no, then you do not get any new release info. You can also change this through "settings" --> "service channels" option.

I have just installed it on my 32 bit Vista and will test it to see what the fuss is all about.

Revo just released their pro version of their uninstaller and it's 32 and 64-bit (they also added some additional functionality). However, they want ~$40 for it. While I think it's a great utility it's not worth $40, especially when you consider how much great software you can buy with that same amount of money.

Hopefully, if they're smart, they'll offer the 32/64 uninstaller only for about $5.

    Yes.
    Yes.

I'm using on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Very good, no problem.

    I'm also running TU 5 on Win7 64-bit.

While it may not clean every single shred with default settings (it doesn't watch all drives/all folders automatically), it does a good enough job for me.

What's even more important for me that I've been UNABLE to foul up my system using it.

With other uinstallers that has happened and that is the worst thing that can happen.

I've have not tried Revo, so thanks for the tip on that one!

I am running revo uninstaller pro for a while now, without registration!
There is no limitation. I dunno why but i can use the uninstaller pro without paying for it. :D
I think the trial period is a fake. It seems to be a full version here without registration key.

@Habakuck: On their page, they say it expires after 30 days, though. Are you sure about what you said in your last post? If so, this is like WinRAR, which you can use it after the 40 days trial period too.

    I think so yes.
It was installed on 12.17.09 and it is still running.

I offers me an update. I dunno if it will be working after that update.. :D
    I will try.

How well has it worked so far?

I applied the update and it is still working!

And i never got any "x day left" message.

So i think it is just about the Eula that you have to pay after 30day trial period.

For me it is working. Very Cool! :thumb:

Revo is the best uninstaller i think so i am very glad that it seems to be still "for free"...

What about the uninstall module from Windows 7 Manager (http://www.yamicsoft.com/) anyone tested it?

The other tools in this program seem very useful :)
