Programs you will/not use in 2010?

I've moved to Windows 7, 64-bit so I'm off 32-bit unless its essential and I cannot find a 64-bit version of it.

I'm also going only with inbuilt Windows 7 Firewall and no Comodo to see how it goes.

 

I definitely won't be using WinAntiVirus 2009. Too many pop-ups asking for $$$.

I will 100% be using sandboxie and shadow defender on my windows xp box,
as for my other programs,who knows ?

 

I have mainly same setup like yours minus winpatrol and so far so good after using it now for 2 years.
No hickups at all and smooth as butter.

Programs I wont use:Eh,too many to list off the top of my head

I won't use
Any bloatware
Any Rentaware whatsoever, (What comes on my pc stays on my pc, I don't want to get used to a software then have to re-rent it like a video)
Anything that leaves essential files somewhere other than on my pc or that I percieve to be threatening my personal security or/and privacy.
Any Norton stuff
Any dumbed down software that threatens user configurability options. (Even if I can't personally configure it.)
Anything that insists on updates (purely for marketability purposes) to the detriment of the integrity of the software and usage

That is my New Year's resolution...hopefully I will stick to it as closely as possible

I will probably continue using google Chrome as my main browser
I will hopefully move form SRP to AppLocker.
I will probably still use Ccleaner
I will probably still use Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro as On-demand scanners
I will probably still use LUA

I will not use PrevX free version (probably paid version aswell)
I will not use Comodo Defence+
It's very unlikely that I will use Malwarbytes paid version again.
It's unlikely that I will use any Heavy (I mean strong) HIPS

I will not use Defencewall/GesWall if they still affect gaming that bad. (same goes to virtualization)

I may give a try to the Chrome OS (but not as main OS)

It's all just guess, so it may all change.
Who knows...

I haven't changed much in the last 2 years, and apart from real productive new software I don't see what could be added to my ShadowProtect /Shadow Defender combination. On my main computer I have Avira Premium on demand (for occasional scans) and on the other 2 machines I have disabled Anti-Executable as they never prompt on anything.

So my 2010 resolution: ShadowProtect/Shadow Defender only. My greatest disappointment in 2009 has been the money I wasted with First Defense PC Rescue.

There is however an interesting application which I would like to test: Comodo Time Machine.

 

So pretty much your saying you will not be using it for long. I had a lot of FP's when i was using it.

 

I use Shadow Defender also,and wanted to try Comodo Time Machine,but when I tried to install Comodo Time Machine,it asks to first uninstall Shadow Defender first,so I gave up on it.

 

Thanks for the warning, Shadow Defender is untouchable on my machines.

 

Because they both do almost the same thing...

 

I am happy with the stuff in my signature on two computers for 2010, but will continue to evaluate the progress of Avast! and OA in the firewall arena. My wife is planning on a new x64 computer, so will probably start with the W7 firewall and MSE there since she does not want to hear from any of the security stuff. And W7 imaging. Will definitely not use anything from Satan or Melih this year.

I've noticed quite a few of you were saying you wouldn't use google chrome, can I ask why?
I've been using it for a while now and it's very fast, easy to use and from what I've read, pretty secure too.
