I sent them a single file to be analyzed and detected i am sure 100% it is a real malware and in 5 - 6 days they dont want to answer they say they still analyze while other av company added the file same day as i sent them =) I mean i got sick of this and angry i bought their product for my last money and at least i deserve a answer from them or to help Customers, but they don't care about customer it seem?

I had a similar experience with BD. I caught a new ransomware/malware which was not detected by any AV on VirusTotal. I sent samples to ESET, F-Secure, McAfee Avert Labs and BD.

Within 2 hrs I got a response from Eset that they had added the signature. By next day F-Secure and McAfee responded. But BD... well I am yet to get a reply and when I last checked the sample again on VT after 2 weeks of sending the sample it was caught by 8 scanners and predictably BD was not one of them.

I have never mailed them any samples again. Eventually I ditched BD due to their incesent vsserv.exe crashes. Softwin really needs to tighten its ship.

I don't know about their LiveAssistance but their solutions(in terms of performances) should really need to tighten up.

I have trailed BD many times and found some kind of bugs that were know to the team but not been fixed fully. The vsserv.exe error was the most common one that I encountered.

Even check their forum there are many users having the same problems but the team ain't responding quickly. And even if they do they the most common answer is to reinstall BD(which didn't solve the problem in my case:cautious: ).

BD have really good detection rates you can see the AV-Comparatives they mostly get Advanced ratings and also in many cases Advanced+ also but the AV cannot be used for long run. The time when I trailed BD initially everything was working just flawlessly but as time passed bugs popped up:blink:

I only have complains regarding their product's performance not with their detection ability no doubt about their ability they have one of the best detection rates as also matter of fact many other vendors use their engine(no need of telling most of you might know).

EDIT: Sorry guys for bashing but really feeling bad how a good AV just have some problems good luck to them for their future versions

... and don't forget the BD forum: The only suggestion you will get if BitDefender doesn't work flawlessly: Deinstall and install your product once again :D

Actually I say that atleast BD 2008 was also good(I select good as a word v10 was even better) but fared badly after that. Sheer downfall:thumbd:

i see this as nothing but a 'bashing' thread,

if you dont like the company or support, dont buy a licence for it.

That was the main reason I gave up on Bitdefender.

I bought a licence a around 2 years ago, had lots of bugs where when I boot up the computer everything was disabled. Live support were helpful but then asked to use there tools to collate info and and send to support. After that I never heard a peep from them.

I also have found that sample submission is very hit and miss. They do need to improve on this.

I saw the chat that is now removed, and I must say that the behaviour of Bitdefender's helper was near to nothing. It will keep me from even trying them.

Running Bitdefender at present is crippling my PC; Its like having a virus on my PC

it takes 1 to 3 week to add a dangerous virus that spreads everywhere on MSN/Yahoo not normal 1 to 3 weeks for a file

use Avira instead best and free.

Man I can understand your trauma but don't create this as an A vs B thread.:)
