ugh -_- the simple 3 choice menu reminds me of Norton 360. Why do companies have to emulate each other. I have to admit it looks prettier though ^^

When I heard Kaspersky Pure I was hoping for an av only (scanner/sigs).

I really don't know why so many companies had to follow Norton-360 and its design...
I think it was highly un-necessary for a good company like kaspersky to do this...
wonder how good are sales figure of n-360,mcafee TP?

a lot of people i know in places like staples and office depot's etc that work there said 360 outsells both nav and nis by a good margin.. that least from what they see people walk out with

To make the transition for new customers easier. If a new product that looks familiar and the customer is comfortable with it, I assume that they would be more likely to buy it.

I also agree with you but there are many naive users out there those who don't know or know little about computers so they normally prefer AIO suites as they provide well round protection including tune-up,password manager....so on....

I would prefer any of AIO suites for my mom and dad as they both have less knowledge about computers and mainly use for chatting with my sister(she is in US) and some what surfing nothing more than that.

this is a beta:-things may(read will!)change when product is released, one of the changes could be the GUI,it may be completely re-designed,but no matter what it looked like some would dislike it!

Kaspersky changes GUI every year a lot. so, it's very hard for his customers to mirgate to new version. take a look at corporate market there is no Kaskersky and never will be

Although a lot of their sales are in retail, overall Kaspersky seem to be doing good business overall in their Home market, unless their figures have collapsed over the last year.

Yuk! I think that they need to hire Pipkin and get a proper UI designed/implemented.

I for one will NOT be moving to this...don't really know what to call it.

As as to the great unwashed walking out of stores with more copies of Norton 360 than NIS 2010 or NAV 2010...well, there is gullible and more gullible. I strongly suspect that most of these people have done little or no research and have just taken advice from (what I have very often found to be) extremely ill informed sales assistants...but then I could be accused of being cynical and elitist. ;)

Regardless of the so called affiliations, KL is the market leader in Russia...you can't really argue with that. At any rate they have a higher going rate than Dr.W :)

actually 2 people i know do not even try to sell norton since they dont use it and like otherwise. 1 of them pushes kaspersky. and he said even still they always go back to the norton box and even then he says ok you dont need 360 the nis will do all you need they still leave with 360 the majority of the time. he said the norton box must put off some kind of a smell or signal that draws them in jokingly.. but its prob just the most well known name along with mcafee over the years which he said they also sell a lot of :gack:

why do some companys feel the need to bring out these 'total protection suites'

to me, it seems alot of junk for a higher cost.

If people did not buy them they would not produce them. As long as there is a demand for this kind of thing it will always be marketed to.
