Scan of a known-infected disk this morning turned up two false negatives (which I have submitted to ESET) and a false positive within the installer of Linksys EasyLink Advisor's Cisco Media Center.msi file. The actual offending file is "avmediaserver.exe, within the "data1.cab" file of the install package. Somehow I doubt that it's infected, but ESS with current (12/28 ) definitions reports it as probably a variant of Win32/Genetik trojan."

I can't very well submit a whole cab file for evaluation, but it's worth checking if anybody else is seeing this?

    Hello,

If you think a file is being detected as a false positive or that the ESET software is not detecting an infected file, you should try submitting it to Virus Total to check.
