I like to live by a counter quote. "If it's too good to be true try it anyway you may get lucky if not an opertunity will always present itself."

    Dear Fly,

The only thing i can say is, you can have words with BitDefender Tech Support, and do ask them to get connected you with Mr. Octavian Radu and Mr. Florin. They will do the same, and then after you can find out what i have said.

And about me, i am not related with BD or Qihoo 360. And don't rely on stories, I rely on truth.

And one more thing i would like to say, never judge a person from his number of post. I have not said anything about me here, so you cannot say that i am claiming something. Anyways, i have done my extensive research on this, so i thought i should tell you guys about this. Rest Depend upon you brothers.

    Hi, folks.

I fully comprehend Chinese.... therefore, take a very close look at the link site provided by OP. I have come across QIhoo 360 mentioned by many Chinese forum users on various sites. It is not a strange creature at all.

On its official site, it has post TWO certifications... one from Chinese central government's PUBLIC SECURITY department--- an equivalent to USA's HOME LAND security and ATTONEY GENERSAL combined.\\
    the other from VB 100.

If these two proofs can not provide you with some sorts of logical thinking/ reasoning, then you should call your parents and ask them WHY ?

Just my 2 cents, Happy holidays everyone. And keep all minds OPEN for the new unknown/ old known.

    Happy holidays to every one..

Can we rely on the China Public Security stamp of approval, doesn't China restrict access to internet sites such as Facebook and other sites where people can think "freely".
Can we be sure that there's no hidden code from the iron fist of Communist love?

    Hi Simon,

Are you 100% sure about other products? Or are you sure about Microsoft too? What i think that, No security solution provider will do such a pitty thing. What if they get caught? Then surely they will loose customers as well as their fame... There are Thousand's of reverse engineers in the world those who can track back the coding. So i don't think so that they will put some malicious code which can help Chinese govt. to take control all the system's.

Secondly, If this can happen with this then probably this can happen with others also. Say, Symantec start helping US Govt to take control of Russian PC's and Kaspersky and Dr. Web start helping Russian Govt. to take control of US Systems, then everything will be out of control. LOL

    Think Positive Bro.

Who knows it all could be... Anyways US software ever went that direction. The US in gen has to many leaks to keep Something like that a secret. As for the Chinese government they would just feel its in the interest of the empire LOL.

Whatever will be the reason, only we will suffer in this digital war.

Anyways let get into the track...So Qihoo 360 achieved VB100 award. What i think that this happened due to in the cloud technology used by them. Whereas other players like Norman, CA failed to achieve this award.

As for Norman, Ahnsoft, and the others who failed...

    Hi, folks:

Let me make it very clear that politics or political origin SHOULD not have any bearing towards the quality of rubber stamp. Yes, China, a not yet that democratic nation, but its government's ability/capability in this case still have some merits.

That stamp of approval is from the test/evaluation center, antivirus products, computer branch.

I firmly believe the negative view of such an approval is attributed to Language BARRIER; any one possessing simple reading ability of Chinese will definitely not make such an error.

Again, keep your minds open. There is a link (also in Chinese) leading to the long list of other name-brand AVs which by the way are also receiving this type of stamp of approval. FYI, I have no any affiliation with any political party in this world.

What does country of origin have to do with the quality of the software o_O

I see no relevance with what you just stated.

Good software is good software.. doesn't matter what country it came from.

Heck, there are even Rogueware from US and Europe, perhaps even more than there is in China.
