To bad the free version isnt x64 compatible. Alot of people are migrating to x64 and thats going to be a big thing. Without the ability to test it out before they buy I doubt it will do very well.

 

I can't see Them ignoring 64bit system's, they will have to make a version for 32bit/64bit. Like you say 64bit will be a big thing in the very near future.

 

They arent ignoring them. If you want to use it on an x64 system you have to pay. They offer it, but you cant trial it. And the software will most definately behave differently in a x86 environment than it would in an x64.

 

30 days for a trail and then you either pay or you no longer get to continue testing or even use a free version if you wished to opt out of the pro options. You either get 30 days and pay or nothing. Nice. I wouldnt pay for it even if I liked it.

 

If you install alot of apps then yes, but for someone who doesnt then maybe not.

 

You seem to be biased towards the program just because it's now shareware. You obviously didn't even bother to check and see if a trial was available and then you complain that at the end of the 30 day trial (which is a decent length) you aren't allowed to use a free version or continue testing. So after they let you test for 30 days you should be able to test it forever? Come on, that's just silly. Not everybody is as nice as the WinRar guys. Also, if you don't like the pro version, they still offer a free version with some reduced functionality. I'm trying the pro but I most likely won't pay for it. It'd be a nice to have but it's not a need to have for me at least.

 

Maybe you missed the fact that the free version isnt x64 compatible. Only x86. Thats the issue. They offer a free version for the x86, but havent bothered to include the ever more growing x64 platform.

This program has served me well for ages. Might look at the pro version, wouldn't mind rewarding all the hard work that has gone into this product.

Cheapskate or not I dont care. Its ridiculous as a company to offer a free x86 version thats watered down for an unlimited time, but only give people with an x64 platform 30 days for a trial and if they want it they have to pay. You cant use the x86 free version on an x64 platform.

 

well its their product, they can do w/e they want with it, nothing is obligating them to have ANY free version. its their tech, their property, their choice. the free revo is doing its job great for me, watered down or not, i dont need any fancy features with it, so i cant complain personally.

 

I dont care if its watered down. The fact that they are singling out x64 systems and forcing anyone with an x64 system to pay is ludicrous. If the free version was also in the x64 format I wouldnt have a problem, but it can only be used and installed on x86. If you want x64 you are forced to pay.

What do you mean? I use x86 free version on Windows 7 x64 and it works just fine, removing all leftovers. Version x64 would be nice, but I can live without it.

EDIT: Just noticed the note on their webpage, that it is for x86 only. I uninstalled it and installed again and it still works (screen), strange but it is ok for me.

I tried the full version briefly, I might wait to see what else they implement. I noticed compared to CCleaner, seems to remove additional temp files. So using both would still be recommended.

 

I also tried the x86 version on Win7 x64. The only programs it would uninstall were 32 bit programs (installed @ C:\Program Files (x86)). 64 bit programs (from C:\Program Files) were not displayed in Revo.

TOMxEU, can you please verify this on your system? Can you see 64 bit apps listed in Revo Uninstaller for x86?

Ah sorry, my bad, I did not get it before, it can uninstall only x86 aplications, not x64. I can not uninstall x64 aplications either, do not have many of them.
