thanks for response Ako - is that what they call a portable app?...

it seems like the more programs i install the more problems i have (with a sluggish netbook), so i'm just looking for the programs(like Process Explorer for ex.) that can you download to a folder and then open and close on demand - maybe add a start menu shortcut if necessary...

i mean a person could add 100's of program like that and the only hit would be HDD space - no?

    Yes, they are portable apps.

Your idea is good, but it would be a hard task to keep track on portable apps.

Have you cleaned up all unnecessary startups? They may explain the slowdown. I use Winpatrol for this:

Spyware Doctor starter edition has been replaced with Spyware Doctor + Antivirus starter edition. It might be a good idea to move it from antimalware software to antivirus software.

I will not inform here of the updates of the list anymore. I did it mainly due to Calendar of updates, but my list has stopped being updated there.

    P.S. 135000 visitors so far! :)

    Ako,

I, and I'm sure many others would appreciate if you would continue to post updates to your list here. The reason that the latest update to the list is missing at Calendar of updates is solely due to the lack of a change log.

Certainly you can understand, that with such an extensive list, an update stating "Added a lot!" is not sufficient. I would be very happy to continue posting updates to your list at COU, but without a change log, it's a little pointless.

    Congrats btw on 135000 visitors.

    Best regards,
    RD.

    Hi RD,

It seemed to me, that some minor updates had been neglected too before. At that "a lot" I added ca. 50 apps. recommended to me at another thread.

    Jmonge: appranger is included.

    Hi Ako,

I can't see any omissions from the past 18 updates (dating back to Oct. 27th last) in the thread at COU. Any posts where you specifically stated what was Added should be there.

To keep informed of updates to the list, I'm only subscribed to this single thread.

    Best regards,
    RD.
