    Re: CryptoSuite Benchmark Results

For Jason's information :) These benchmarks were taken with the all usual apps running. AMD 2200XP running at 1800Mhz all other peripherals are the same except for the GFX card, MB and memory.

First Benchmark was with a Gigabyte MB and 512MB of DDR2100
Second is with Asus Av600-x using 512MB of TwinMOS DDR3200

    1,-----------Benchmark finished]--------------
    CPU Frequency: 1807MHz (+/- 5mhz)
    RAM Installed: 511MB
    Total time taken: 23938ms
Average time for each test: 3419ms

    RAM Installed: 511MB
    Total time taken: 20788ms
Average time for each test: 2969ms

    Your computer scored: 24052 CRYPTOMARKS!

    Quite a good increase of around 15% ! :D - Pilli

    Wow nice increase Pilli.

I wouldn't of though RAM would make that much difference, I take it you are running it in DUAL mode on your new motherboard?

Hi Jason, No it is a via chipset not Nvidia and not overclocked but I have updated the BIOS.
The RAM has been "qualified" by Asus to run with the MB
    256mb TwinMos M2G9I08AFTT9F0811DDT TwinMos SS TMD7608F8E50B
The motherboard is relatively inexpensive: The RAM was not!
    http://uk.asus.com/products/mb/socketa/a7v600/overview.htm

A very pleasing result for sure, shame the Gigabyte "blew its caps" though  as it was less than two years old.

Beta is superior to VHS. Can one find a VHS Digicam used in broadcasting? No. On the other hand there are perhaps many thousands of Digital Betacams used daily in ENG & EFP which is for News gathering and field production. :)

Nice scores guys! I am glad I only have to wait a bit under 20 seconds for it to complete on my machine, as having to wait 6 minutes would be frustrating. :)

Pilli that certainly is overclocked. Quite a nice one if it is stable, good score. :)

This is an AMD64 3000+ cpu. It is nice to see it has more power per clock than even the original Athlon XP. Looks like 30000 is the new 20000. :)

Jason, I was joking it was "mildly" overclocked :p And not stable , now quite happy at 2000Mhz - Which is about the equivelent of an XP2800, very stable with a CPU temp of 39C on normal running 46C intensive.

    Re: CryptoSuite Benchmark Results

Ahk Pilli, didn't realize you were joking. :)

You should be able to get it stable at 2300MHz if you increase the voltage to the CPU, 1.75 volts would probably be enough without causing any damage to the CPU. If you are using the stock cooling device on your athlon though you might want to reconsider that. :)

I managed to run the CryptoSuite benchmark at 2400MHz on my Athlon 2600+ (non barton), at around 1.8-1.85 volts, but it wasn't very stable. :)

    Re: CryptoSuite Benchmark Results

Thanks Jason, I am not normally an overclocker but wanted to see how the TwinMos 3200's stood up and if I could get past the 30,000 + CryptoMarks :)
As you say, increasing the CPU voltage would probably have stabalised it.
I'm quite happy with the performance at 2Ghz and a low CPU temp with my case fans turned right down. :D
