Install an operating system in a virtual environment and test Panda against new zero-day threats.

50 dollars says the system won't even boot ( at least it wouldn't for me )

Then go try it with an alternative, even AVG for example. Not all malware is blocked but it's still bootable.

At Remove-Maware.com Panda was tested in the same way as you described here. It was even a beta version, who let two malware sites/files through and stopped through their cloud 8 others. And booting and such was no problem. You can see it at youtube. So again: bull.

thats a bold statment there, i have been testing since beta 2 and all the tests i have seen have been very positive. get your facts stright . PCA will have issues on certain things because there is 1 no behav. detection, no self protecting etc. all this will be added into ver. 1.1.

My facts are straight as I tested the product myself. The Virtual Environment actually froze up upon booting after testing the product.

    Also see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq1JuFt1xNo

I tested the product against approximately 21 Zero-Day Malware threats. It stopped 8, the rest went completely free.

If you like I'll gladly do a screen record of me testing it and upload it to youtube for your enjoyment.

yes that youtube has been talked about before. he has no clue what he doing nor talking about on that. search this thread and you will see.

as for freezeing, i take it you have a slow computer or you configured you VM wrong it works find with no issues . the fact you tested it againest zero day malware how do you know it zero day? i mean your tests are really meaningless really look at the large picture. PCA works and works well.

The freezing was caused by multiple rootkits that PCA got through.

Testing Avira against the same threats I had no issues at all, the computer booted, no problems at all.

I'm not saying I hate this application. I'm simply saying it's nowhere near as good as it's hyped up to be. I would like to see this succeed, the idea of not having to update really sounds great. As of right now though, the product just does not seem nearly enough.

Another test/review conducted at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jGIP82t2KM&feature=related Also showing it failing.

Let's hope there is one soon.

As more people try PCAV there are a lot more threads on the Panda Cloud Forum stating problems with the program.

On Windows XP, Panda is like 3 to 4 times faster in scaning then my Windows 7 machine.

I have no idea why, it seems slow scanning was only my problem....?

IMO, larger groups are better; the more machines used the greater the number of hardware/software mixes are tested ;)

But these private betas often do not solve even the simplest of problems.

I can think of several security programs who have recently gone through these private beta tests yet relatively simple, common bugs/problems were not picked up until it was open to wider testing with a public beta release.

But whether private or public, large or small group testing, it would be good to see a bug-fix version followed by beta-testing of version 1.1.

Ok, i installed Panda on my Office PC, It uses Windows XP but scanning speed is ~ Snipped as per TOS ~ slow again just like my Windows 7 Laptop.

I dont know what is causing the dramatic difference in Scanning Speed.

I Hope 1.1 will fix all of these....

Please run a full scan of your PC after install. Panda Cloud Antivirus needs to get to know your PC (installed apps, files, etc.) so that it can fill its goodware cache and not have to query constantly to the cloud. After a full scan you should be OK.
