Is there a definitive yes/no about Mac OS X Snow leopard needing an AV?

I see there are some out there (AV for mac), but from what I read in the documentation they kind of get around to saying it's not really needed. (Apple).

Real world opinions? I picked up a Macbook for 799 after 200 MIR from Microcenter and hope to put Win 7 on it along with OSX Snow leopard.

Just curious as I know there must be a few Mac users here.

That certainly sheds some light on the question - thanks!
