    Hi Jeff,
The offer looks good. What is your assessment of G Data, and did you trial the AV or suite? Thanks.

    Regards,
    Jerry

well you asked. I have spent 3 hours of hell today with them. I bought a family member a 3 user license to the AV. We installed it on one pc and put activation code in and have yet for it to show as activated. We can not get the user name and password sent and I have emailed support 3 times to deaf ears. Cant get my money back due to they dont know how to credit a credit card thing, so I just told them if by morning we have not heard anything I will just eat it and put MSE on the computers.

At this point I would stay as far away from them ~ Snipped as per TOS ~

I am hoping they may just be holding off till it is officially Sunday here and I will get activated with the special they start offering Sunday with the extended license, but I am not holding out hope.:cautious:

    Great product but ends there.

Many thanks. I don't need trouble with my AV, and especially now that you have given your experience.

I am happy with the ones I have been using so will stick with one of them.

    Regards,
    Jerry

Aww, G-Data should really improve their customer support side :doubt:
Maybe you could try contacting their UK support? (Not really sure if it's UK)
I heard they do help people from USA too :D

Heard some good things about their Live support BUT i've never tried it

    Good luck mate

I'd give them another day or two to resolve your issue(s). Worst case you could try disputing the charge with your cc.

GData scores high on detection as you know.
But still is heavy on system and has really BIG installation file.
Just trialed for 2 days and removed.

I didn't feel it was heavy on my system, but you're right about the download size :D

Trjam, please don't get me wrong: why would you advertise GData's US sale, if you are having issues with them?

My guess would be that he purchased/trialed the software right after posting this thread.

I just installed G Data AV. No problems at all. I entered my serial, name and email.

Updates -> Options -> Enter your data -> Register with server.

20 bucks for G Data AV 15 months. Highly recommended! :D

I am curious as to which two AV Engines GData uses. I heard that one of them is Bitdefender. Is it still Bitdefender and what is the other one?

    Thanks in Advance.

Good Morning ! If you must purchase go to the U.K. vendor Ultimate Internet Security, they provide support through there forum. As stated previously the support from G-Data Germany is non-existent. E-mails with support take up to two weeks in response, and when they do theirs no concrete advice given, just head scratching responses such as we've experienced difficulty with our English Servers. At least the U.K. vendor has a refund policy that deals through Pay-Pal. The G-Data head office in Germany has no such policy, and expects you the customer to go through your bank to initiate a refund. And the strange part is when I finally downloaded the Windows 7 version of G-Data from the U.K. vendor, their rep stated the Windows 7 version was only downloaded from the specially provided link, and wasn't available from the website, very strange and quite frankly misleading ! Why would you advertise product as being compatible when it isn't, this to me smacks of fraudulent activity. In essence Consumer Beware, if the offer is too good to be true there's usually, a reason. And Trjam hope everything turns out alright for you. Keep us up to date on what materializes. Sincerely...Securon

Maybe they're too focused on making the AV better?

G-Data 2010 is really good one and due to whitelisting it does not slow down computer, however, sometimes it does slow down web downloads.

It does not like my HSBC mastercard, it asking for security code and tell me that code is incorrect... I was 15 minutes on the phone with HSBC and everything is OK from their side...

Does Gdata have the Bitdefender B-have monitor? Or any other behavior monitor for that matter?

I just want to share my joy with you guys. For a month and a half ago I asked a question in a gdata thread here at the forum. I had been at gdata`s website and purchased a license for gdata internet security for the cost of 0.- it was an error with theire servers.

I never recieved a license key from gdata. Today I got an email saying that they appologized for what had been an error on theire servers at the time of my purchase. They also gave me a 12 months license for internet security.

That is what I call service!

They really have no support and that really hurts people who are very stupid like me. Let me tell you an interesting tale of a stupid Wilders Member.

I actually own 3-3user licences for the AV and cant use a one.:D True.

The first is one I bought in September that is how I found G-Data to be so good. Maybe it is like some that after so many activations enough is enough. But if I load it onto my PC it says it is being used by another computer, which is fine because it use to give me the option to deactivate the other computer and activate my main one, but alas, no more. Now I reimaged this PC this past weekend and still no go. I can load G-Data on my daighters PC and the damn license will work. But I have 3 computers.

So, I bought a new license a week ago for my sisters computers, you may remember that. Stupid me put it in my email address and I think that is the issue but they wont talk. I downloaded the big key and on install installed it and it said it was already activated at the server. No big deal, usally after you activate it a user name and password are sent our for you to enter for updates. Never happened. If I go to their site and use that long registry number and imput it into the place to send me my user name and password it takes it and says it will send it by email and I get nothing. Plus it shows on their site as not being activated, but yet their server says it is and my credit card says it is. It isnt blocked by email because the first one above, I can enter and it will send me my now 2 user license. Lol

Lets move on to this past weekend when I for some reason bought another one and put it in my daughters email address. Did this because of how my second one shows not activated. It worked, got a new license and loaded up my 3 computers. For about 2 hours and then removed it and deleted the conformation email. Then the next day decided to put it back on, tad bit bi-polar wouldnt you say, and put her login name in and it takes it and password but doesnt show a license. Period. Shows all my account info but it doesnt show where I even purchased a license.

Back to the first, if I login as me it shows under orders, adobe documents for my orders that I can download. But if I try, Internet Explorer shows or pops up and says nothing is there.

G-Data and me were really made for each other. 2 bumbling idiots walking through the woods together. Yes I can bash their support, but in reality I would have to be ready to be bashed myself for wastefulness and stupidity.

9 licences and none can be used. Top that my fellow Wilders members.:D

One last good one and hope this isnt off topic. F-Secure. I had used up all of my activations on my AV license and they said I had to contact support. Rightfully so. Now when I contact a vendor I always tell them I am a member at Wilders. Right or wrong it really does matter to some vendors and I really think they take you as more serious or knowing your stuff. Yeah right for me.;)

2 days later they send my license back and say the issue is fixed. Thank you. I installed it and it says it has to do some download to make it right for the right program. They had been so kind as to change it to a license for the suite. My problem is, I dont use the suite and now that license is worthless to me. Not their fault for being kind, and heck, I may install the suite before the day is out. But that my friends, is real support.:thumb:
