Actually this is really weird. It's as if it was repeating the initial installation scan (memory scan) every time. If you don't mind I'll PM you something to troubleshoot.

Actually we never had support for Windows 2000 in Panda Cloud Antivirus.

Yeah, known bug. Sorry about that. Will be fixed in next revision :(

I suppose I should have worded my question differently. Why doesn't PCA support Win 2K since it supports XP? Is there a way to allow PCA to work on Win 2K?

I haven't tried this on Windows 2000, but *could* work.

    1- Download the installer CloudAntivirus.exe
2- Right click and extract to subdirectory (using Winrar or 7z).
3- Go into this directory and change the compatibility mode of SETUP.EXE to Windows 2000.
4- Run SETUP.EXE. Let me know if it works.

Of course don't expect much support if it does work :D

Another quick question: how do you manually clear quarantined files and event logs?

    Thanks.

Installed in 3 PC's and one of them had a similar issue like Blackcat but after couple of reboots, the Panda behaved like it should. On a different WinXP Home Edition SP3, the full scan would not respond and stop at 97% and 26% respectively. Other than the minor hiccup, it runs fine. Visually, females in the house enjoy the panda zoo from home. It looks to be a keeper. Keep up the great work Pbust! :)

    EDIT: Spelling

Really, on a 4th computer the scan function simply does not respond correctly repeatedly and you call that a "minor hiccup"?
Not to be brass, but isn't that a 25% failure rate?
Leniency towards minor bugs like GUI glitches is one thing but a function like a scan, fast or full, that doesn't work (or leaves the user guessing what actually happened) seems like a pretty fundamental flaw/bug to me.

This is not meant personal or as pounding on PCAV but I've experienced this bug myself (on different machines with XP Pro SP3) and unfortunately I'm reading about it simply too often.

I don't know if this has been addressed already. I'm not using PAV myself yet, but I installed it for a friend and he mentioned today that the tray icon is red and the AV says it's stopped. Does that happen automatically when the computer is not connected to the internet, or does it suggest some other problem?

To manually clear the Recycle Bin:
    1- Open PCA
2- Flip the screen to the Recycle Bin
    3- Use the shortcut CTRL-SHIFT-D.

    To clear the event log:
1- Right-click on "My PC", select "Manage"
2- Browse to Event Viewer and look for the "Nano" entry
3- Right-click and select "Clear Log"

Is there any chance we'll see minor bugfix releases like a 1.0.1 version?

what os is it installed on?

it shouldnt be red, but the normal panda face. I would repair the install and reboot to see that it fixes it.

only issue i had with panda 1.0 was with windows 7 32bit not having the action center not see it. i just uninstalled it and reinstall. and all was well after that.

i hope to see a minor update for bug fixes

Yes we're talking about this specifically this next week. The next major release is 1.1 but we'll probably release a few bug fixes in between.

Would be great! With just a few (minor) bugfixes most of the problems people are currently experiencing could be solved I think.

    Thanks.

Better documentation on the product would be very much appreciated as well, though...

The OS is Vista Home 32 bit. The install completed without error and the Security Center is seeing the AV. So, you're saying the Panda icon should not show an error state just because the computer is offline, is that correct? I'll get more feedback from my friend and post again if necessary.

no the icon shouldnt be red that only if the AV is off, computer needs a restart to remove a malware.

online or offline it should show a white and black panda. with no red 'X'

try an uninstall then delete the left over program files folder then reinstall but make sure you reboot then delete the folder. that may help.

its odd your friend is having issues i was running vista 32bit with out issue.

Thanks for the reply. My friend is a newbie and I'm not sure what's going on yet. It may be some form of operator error :) but I expect to know more tomorrow.

Update: The problem has resolved itself. I haven't been able to exam the computer so I'm not sure what changed, but it's working properly now.

    Yet another question.

Is it normal and/or expected that this product returns different (inferior) detection rates compared to Panda Antivirus 2010?

What do you think of the auto-update feature. Do you see a security risk in it, because it could be used by sb. else or do you see a great up-do-date feature for lazy customers in it?
