I'm having a problem defragging my hard drive. Single partition / 80% free space / XP Home.

Program runs along and I see it is working. Problem is that it never stops. It seems to bog down about 90% complete.

Any thoughts as to why that would happen? Are there better alternatives available - even if they are not free?

I use Defraggler from time to time & have never encountered the problem you reported.

Did you try (1) uninstall then (2) reinstall?

In any event, my *main* defragger is now Puran -- license cost $19.95. It's fast, efficient, simple, & VERY effective. There is a 30-day free trial.

That bug was fixed in an update that came a couple of days ago. New version is 1.15.163: http://www.piriform.com/defraggler/download

I downloaded an update yesterday before I had this problem, so I assume I have the most recent version. I'll check when I am home tonight. If I'm correct that I have the new version, the problem is still there.

    Thank you,
    Len

I have the current version - apparently this "bug" is not yet fixed.:thumbd:
