Actually only avast! is sticking out in this regard, since Free version only lacks Script Blocker. So in 99,99% of cases, detection should be identical between Free and Pro. It will however change with avast! 5.1. Detection will be the same, only delivery will be much much faster with Pro version (Pro clients will obtain updates in much faster 10 minute intervals while Free will be limited to casual update rate like we're used to now). But essentially, detection will be the same if VPS version is also the same.

Panda Cloud doesn't have any of this, but benefits from fast cloud access to signatures and doesn't really rely on update intervals as the signatures are always up-to-date. So that's a good pro compared to some others.

We added your suggestion for version 1.0 (at least a first less intrusive implementation):

Since PCA doesnt have TruPrevent wont this make PCA alot weaker on detection?

    what is TruPrevent?

    Thank you

I don't think it is, because it works fine on my system. Well, it might be a bug, but very specific to your system.

TruPrevent is a behavior analysis engine and blocker. Yes, it's an advantage over PCAV alone. But that's the tradeoff for being free...

True, but with the cloud based make PCA alot better in detection and always up to date then , the other "free" products correct?

I think this feature would be very important because ordinary Joe won't deinstall-install-deinstall ... :doubt:

pbust, when will we see the self protection feature? Version 1.1? :)

Version 1.0 has some self protection features but they won't be complete until 1.1.
Regarding automatic upgrade, that's also something we will introduce with v1.1.

Potentially unwanted applications and suspicious detections mostly.

Yes this is a new feature. Will be a little more polished with the v1.0 release.

will PCA have a type of HIPS added ?

EDIT: also is this just a Antivirus / Antispyware program like MSE, or will it be more then just that?

Yes also for after version 1.0 we have something in mind to make it more than just simply an Antivirus/Antispyware.

Keep up the good work. Really like PCA simplicity (It seems that I am getting old. :D )

    @ Pbust,

kinda wondering how fast are you guys planing on releasing version of PCA.

like 1.0 then 1.1 in how long sort of thing? or you have no deadline.

is there a roadmap we can look/fallow of features to be added?

    Thanks
    Brock
