    Hi Mike..
Is there anyway of just having one tray icon e.g the firewall icon.I find it annoying that there are two icons with the same right click choices.

I've been using it the past couple weeks on XP SP3. I am inclined to agree with you that the average Joe could use it with no problems or head scratching. All in all....good work. :thumb:

You can remove the firewall (tray) icon. If you open up the "main menu" in Online Armor, go to "options", click the "firewall" tab and then uncheck the "show firewall activity in tray" block. I hope this helps!

I'm not saying that the OA firewall isn't as effective as CIS or OP. I was referring to the features and options offered by the three programs. Even the free CIS allows one to configure attack detection settings, and its way of defining and contolling network access rules is more flexible and easier to configure (for me at least) than OA.

I'm not sure if you can hide that icon through the GUI or options? You can post over at the Online Armor forum for further assistance though, http://support.tallemu.com/vbforum/

You can always try and hide it in the taskbar via the start up menu in Windows, if all else fails!

Hi, you can turn off the firewall status icon from inside OA's options.

Depends on if you prefer to wait or to update. :doubt:
The v4 updates come in waves, not at once.
So maybe you have to wait another week for the automatic update to v4.
Or just download the new version from the website and install it over the current one.

    Cheers

I got impatient and gave up waiting. Download the new version and when you run the installer click the 'update' option. Easy as that!

    Hi Mike,

I think it's great that you've lowered the "initial" purchase price of OA to attract new customers....but will you also be changing the "RENEWAL" price to reflect this as well? I've renewed two years running now...and the current renewal isn't much lower than the (now) initial purchase price.....

    Hi JR,

We've changed the renewal price on a single user to $19.95 too. Most people assumed that OA was a yearly price, so rather than repeatedly explain it, we just set it that way as it seems to be what people expect.

As always, we're keeping an eye on our pricing and products and as I mentioned (somewhere) I'll be reviewing it at the end of the year to see if the price goes back up to $39.95.

If everyone who ever told me the price was too high at $39.95 bought it, I'd have a great Christmas :)

This might have been posted already, but for those wanting OA++, can do so for $29.95 until 31 December.

I think what gives is there are limits to resources and so priorites have to be made. Of course if everyone using the free versions, paid, that might make an impact.

    Hi,

As far as Vista goes - we deliberately did not put a great deal of focus on this when it came out, and history has shown that this was a good call. Vista flopped. There was really very little compelling about it, even recently only 20% or so of the visits to our site were on that OS (this is after a year of having Vista support).

We released a Win7 version for 32-bit about 2 weeks after the release date of Windows 7. That's hardly late.

Like I mentioned before - we're actively working on x64. It will be out in beta as soon as we can (early next year) and released when I'm happy with the quality.

There are only so many hours in the day that we can work, and we're working them. However, we don't have the luxury of just sitting in a cube and working on x64.

The dev team need to assist with support enquiries (whether or not they turn out to be OA issues, user mistakes or incompatible/incorrectly configured third party software) and we have a responsibility to our existing users to ensure , as much as possible that bugs are fixed quickly.

This isn't an excuse, it's an explanation. Give me the same level of resources as some of our larger competitors and I'll show you what we can do. Till then, I have to make do with what I have and do the best I can.

    Hi Callisto/Androcure06,

As we have repeatedly said at our forums...

If you tell us "I have a problem, OA has a bug" and then ignore when people try to (repeatedly) help you,or don't reply when we seek more information to try and understand the issue (yet come back for another complaint later), there is nothing we can do to help you.

But, I don't think you're not looking for help - at least, not the type of help you should be looking for.

So - please provide us with a description of your problem and let us solve it, or keep away from our forum. I certainly shan't be replying to any more of your posts here.

Here we are again. You say OA is buggy. How? What specific problems are you having? Do you have other software installed? Can the problem be reproduced?

Do you understand that it is impossible to help you if you will not provide me the information that I need to do so?

If you have car problems, and call the dealer and say "Ford is terrible, it has problems" and they ask you "What problems? We'll take a look" - and you hang up, then call back 2 weeks later and say the same thing, do you expect that they somehow could magically help you ?

I'm generaly not a rude person, but I do lose patience when I see posts that just say "I have a problem, OA is terrible" - we reply and ask for info, and not given. Or rather, when this happens from same person repeatedly, because this does not look like a dissatisfied customer it looks like a person who is out to cause a problem.

If you are unhappy with OA I am more than happy to refund you. If you are having a problem with OA, our team is more than happy to help you solve it and work with you until it's done, but neither myself, or my team is ready to sit by while you keep posting at our forums "OA is bad" without anything substantial or specific, because it serves no purpose.

Gday all, Mike I wouldnt worry about talking to this 44 gallon drum, its like turning a tap on, it will allow whatever is inside out, but in this case its dribble, and you know the old saying, empty drums make the most sound, this guy sounds like one of those special experts ( x= unknown quantity, spert meaning drip under pressure).

Mike, you'll be getting my cash, so make sure you order the christmas turkey, extra large ok? ;)

Oh, and any future problems, you must fix with that crystal ball you have, the one I know you have. I don't care for this forums feedback shanazzle people go on about, I want you to predict and fix my problems before I have them, just like I seen Tom Cruise do in Minority Report. Thanks!

Mike please stop making excuses. 64 bit OS's go back to XP. You should have been coding a 64 bit years ago. Now your too far behind and loosing people. 90% of pc's are now coming with Win 7 64 bit standard. All those customers is money out the door for you. I am not being a jerk but heck Comodo and Outpost have 64 bit support. So does PC Tools. Sorry Mike but I am not being a jerk but you should have seen this coming for years especially being the CEO of a software security company. I will also add that yes Mike you are behind. You released a "beta" version of OA for Win 7 but still no official support so in theory your behind...................
