    Hi,

I've been looking at your software and I see where Partition Manager 10 and Drive Backup 9 are both Windows 7 compatible but when I look at Hard Disk Manager 2009 Pro it does not list Windows 7.

Is this an oversight or is it because all the components are not yet compatible? If not compatible is there any type of schedule (yes I know this is unlikely but it's worth a try).

    Thanks!

    Dan

Just finished testing HDM 2009 Pro on our Windows 7, and jobs scheduled run fine. The reason why HDM 2009 doesn't get the Win 7 approval stamp because the other 3 other components are not yet updated: Disk Wiper, Total Defrag, and Drive Copy. But so far, Backup and Partition components run fine in Windows 7.

    Thanks Tommy :)

Another concern is testing the recovery CD although it appears that I cannot test this in the demo version of the software. Is that correct?

I have a raid controller (3Ware 9690SA) and insuring that the recovery CD works with it is of course paramount.

    Thanks,

    Dan

With any Raid controller, we recommend using the WinPE CD to have the ability to load custom drivers. Linux/DOS recovery CD is a hit or miss if it's not natively supported. Unfortunately, we don't have the WinPE CD as a demo version.

We do offer a 30 day money back guarantee if for whatever reasons.

    Thank you again Tommy!

    And a couple more quickies:

Do the utilities work with UAC enabled or does it have to be turned off?

Does Hard Disk Manager Pro 2009 come with a year of software assurance or is that something I will have to purchase separately?

It looks like there are two types of backups. I am used to doing incrementals but it looks like incrementals only work with file level backups and not images. If I do differential backups will I be able to restore to any point? Will there be multiple differentials and I select which one?

Thank you very much again for your time!

    Dan

HDM 2009 will work with UAC turned on, but you will get nag screens.

Upgrade assurance is an additional purchase which guarantees you a free upgrade if the next version comes out within the year.

Differential backup is the preferred method because each differential images are independent of each other; meaning you only need the base image and one diff image to do a restore. Where as incremental backups are all dependent of each other.
