Not the best protection around IMO. I have seen too many infected BG users here in Denmark. But very good support.

In the past when I have seen comparisons Bullguard scored essentially the same as Bit Defender.

Yes, and although I have not used BD in years, it gets good ratings when tested by AV Comparatives.
Accordingly, I think Bullguard would be a good suite, plus it is free. I do wonder if the offer requires an immediate installation. I would like to download and keep it as a "hip pocket" AV Suite. I don't want to install it now or in the near future.

    Regards,
    Jerry

Bitdefender & Agnitum (Outpost) engines are used.

Anyone know if Bullguard uses the B-have BitDefender behavior monitor? Also, I see that BullGuard has separate windows for AV and AS. Is the AS component from BitDefender or is it from Agnitum? I thought Agnitum had some in-house AS program they used in their Pro firewall and suite.

Is the Outpost firewall component the full blown or like the Agnitum freeware version?

Anyone know what resource usage BullGuard uses?

I noticed that some download sites have BullGuard 8.7 for download. Anyone know the difference between 8.7 and 8.5?

    Thanks

I think I will be finding out. If it is light it will be going on my laptop.

I am not shure that BG uses the latest BD engine. This test shows that their ARK performance are not the same http://www.av-test.org/down/papers/2008-04_vb_rootkits.pdf

BG doesn`t use the full Outpost PRO. I think they only use the firewall, and not the HIPS.

As i said before, i am not too excited about BG.

    How about its resource usage?

Can I install AntiVirus component only?

So, if you have BD AV/ OPfw already the gaining is the chat support, nothing more ?
