I think you have missed my point entirely, try re-reading my post.

I have, but the point remains that just because your license covers all products at one point does not mean it will cover all products forever. We try and roll out as much functionality as possible to existing users but SafeOnline is a different product entirely. This same model is used with virtually every other company/industry - users can remain using Prevx 3.0 cleanup/detection/prevention as they have been and turn off SafeOnline entirely if wanted, it didn't exist at the time they bought their license so we didn't have it included within the fee.

Based on your signature, I suspect this is an incompatibility with Shadow Defender. This is similar to the DefenseWall issue where Prevx can't identify what website the user is currently on. I'm not familiar with Shadow Defender enough to make a determination on it, but I suspect it is preventing the browser process from sending data to the Prevx process.

Under shadow mode though with both IE and Opera with those results, if there was a compatibility problem between Shadow Defender and Prevx shouldn't both IE and Opera have this problem?
Will check this without being in shadow mode and see if this makes any difference.

I'm finding the website very confusing with respect to SafeOnline and 64-bit OS. I could only find hidden away in one place that it is 32-bit only currently. All other places do not mention any requirements. In fact it is even more confusing as if you click on the "Download free trial button" on the safeonline product page it links to the PrevX download page which says 64-bit is supported (the other download link on the page goes to the correct safeonline download).

I am seeing the same problems with Opera. The tab doesn't show ips, verification, green color etc. But i am using the last beta of Opera. That may be the cause.

This is likely a browser problem in this case, but Opera support in Prevx is completely different than IE/FF/Chrome support. Personally, I haven't had problems with Opera v10.00 build 1750 but will try updating to the latest beta and let you know :)

    Latest final release here.
Seems to be Opera in general.

We say "32bit only" on http://info.prevx.com/downloadprevx.asp but I agree that it is a bit too subtle. I'll see what we can do to add it on the download page itself.

    Thanks!

My point was that this wasn't said in a clear way in your early posts on the subject. You only ever had free or paid so those of us who have a paid subscription assumed that this was an addition to the paid version (some companies do actually add functionality at no additional cost). The fact you have moved the goalposts and it is now a multiple paid subscription was not evident in your earlier posts, which gave the impression that you could simply download the new version (see your very first post on the subject).
I don't have a problem with the changes you have made and have in fact paid for SafeOnline, however, it would have been nice if you had made it clear in post 1 that even if you had a paid version of V3 you would need to pay an upgrade cost for the full version of SafeOnline.

You're correct. We reassessed the business model late in the RC stage which is where the confusion may come from. We had just finalized them yesterday and updated the product accordingly, as I (at least tried to :)) clarify in : https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1564003&postcount=4

This is unfortunate. I for one hate this practice but hey it is your choice to charge more and my choice to uninstall. Last minute business model change. Yeah right.

Dunno how Blackcat got his upgrade for £3, mine was £4.71
Probably something to do with the number of posts:'(

No it isn't :) It is dependent on how much time you have left in your license key so you don't end up paying for extra time and confusing the renewal process.

Re: OFFICIAL RELEASE - Prevx 3.0.5.3 with SafeOnline

I run the free version of Prevx, and just upgraded to version 3.0.5.3. I've turned on the SafeOnline function, and it seems to be working in Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.5. I have two questions:

First, could someone please explain the functionality of the free version of SafeOnline? I've looked at the description at

    http://www.prevx.com/safeonline.asp.

I also read the PDF of the independent test of the full version here:

    http://pxnow.prevx.com/zeroL/Immunity.pdf

I've also read through the Prevx 3.0 Help (when you click on Help within the program), and there is no mention of SafeOnline.

I believe I understand, more or less, what the full version does, but other than protecting your credentials when you log into Amazon and eBay, what does the free version do?

Second question: is it supposed to be compatible with Chrome 4.0.XXX? Doesn't seem to have installed...

    Thanks in advance.

Re: OFFICIAL RELEASE - Prevx 3.0.5.3 with SafeOnline

We will be updating the help file shortly to reflect SafeOnline :)

The free version also detects phishing websites, malware-laden websites, man-in-the-middle attacks, HOSTs file redirections, DNS poisoning/malicious IP redirection, covert proxy installation, leakage of stored credentials, violation of Protected Storage by untrusted programs, remote reading of saved autocomplete form data, and the malicious use of saved cookies/session details from the PC.

Currently SafeOnline is not compatible with Chrome v4 but it will be in one of the next releases :)

Let me know if you have any other questions!

We've now updated our download page to say where SafeOnline is compatible: http://info.prevx.com/downloadsafeonline.asp

    Thanks for the suggestion!

In Prevx 3.0.5.3, if I turn off the SafeOnline function, then it will function exactly same as Prevx 3.0.1.65 ?

What other benefits of Prevx 3.0.5.3 over Prevx 3.0.1.65 , besides the additional SafeOnline function ?

    PrevxHelp
    It was a feeble joke.

On the other hand, having paid for the upgrade to full SafeOnline I am not allowed it. I just get "would you like to............" and taken (onclick) to PrevX website.
I have had the 2 emails. 1 from PrevX & 1 from Cleverbridge.

Could you please try running a scan to see if that clears it up? If not, let me know and I'll investigate closer :) (Could you PM me your license key if the flag isn't caught properly?)

Re: OFFICIAL RELEASE - Prevx 3.0.5.3 with SafeOnline

Yes it will (besides the changes mentioned below :))

Between v3.0.1.65 and v3.0.5.3, over the last 5 months, we have made nearly 1000 changes to Prevx, almost all taking place "under the hood".

To outline a few of the more important changes:

    - Implemented Prevx SafeOnline
    - Completely rewrote the protection engine which minimizes overhead and improves scan speed
    - Optimized disk scanning and added some new internal scan engine components
    - Significantly improved stability in both usermode and kernel mode
    - Added additional behavior monitoring over network access and some system areas
    - Vastly improved the self protection engine for reliability and protection scope
    - Added official Windows Action Center support for Windows 7
    - Fixed incompatibilities with some 3rd party security software
    - Fixed some issues with x64 user switching support
    - Minor graphical changes/GUI logic changes
