Its great to have a Panda expert on this forum.

    Thanks for your replies.

Could I ask when you manually click on scan a file it says it is connecting to server. Is it also scanning the file on line as well?

I found a couple of very new malware and both were detected as suspicious when scanned.

If I were to click on the file does the onaccess scanner also phone home to the panda Cloud?

    Thanks

    jlo

If the promo was just Panda ISS only are there any issues running a different 3rd party firewall assuming Panda Suite allows the Panda firewall not be enabled? I am doing ok with ZA Pro now and kinda want to stick with that for a while.

Every on-demand scan of Panda 2010 tries to connect to Collective Intelligence (cloud-scanning) for improved detection.

Not if you're double-clicking from a file existing on your drive, but yes if it's a file that entered your PC via a more dangerous vector (web download, email attach, etc.). In addition it also connects every so often to check objects loaded in memory.

We also have Panda Cloud Antivirus which was engineered from scratch to check everything in a synchronous mode against Collective Intelligence.

No problem, simply don't install the Panda firewall and stick to ZA. We did have some issues with the Panda firewall a couple of years ago (with VPN connections and such) but those have been fixed. The firewall is as smooth as it gets now.

Running light here. No conflicts thus far with ZA Pro. Decided to not install the firewall or spam filter.

You only had six processes? I had 11. Sometimes more if I opened up the GUI, or started an update, etc.. It seemed lite, but gave me too many issues. Maybe other things on my PC were interfering, but I finally gave up and uninstalled it.

hey guys any one else not received their license key yet or will it be awhile. Just wondering cause Im soooo impatient. Nah seriously I have to say I didnt like what I was hearing about Panda but I decided to go for it and try it myself, and I'm really liking it. Works great, runs light, fairly quick scans, and I really like the firewall. Nice.

From what they tell me it's 1 license. After you activate it you should get an email with your ClientID and it should say how many licenses it is valid for.

I've been doing some testing in my virtual XP machine and Panda Internet security 2010 has done alright against the malicious downloads I have thrown against it. I remember the 2009 version being to bloated for my liking, but panda have improved greatly with their 2010 product.

Anyone else having issues viewing certain web pages with Google Chrome? I sometimes get a page that is not read correctly but on reload it come up correctly. Not sure if that is an issue with Chrome or the http scanning of Panda. But it has only started occurring after installing Panda. Otherwise, though Panda ISS is still running very light and doing well.

Finally got my key. Web scanner, like many on the market, is slower than Avast's. But it is running nicely. I guess it will be between this and Avast 5.
