    Hi,
I'm having issues with running a backup program called Jungle Disk (http://www.jungledisk.com).
Jungle Disk is an automatic backup utility that uploads files to an Amazon S3 online storage.
It uses an SSL connection to secure its files transfers.

Jungle Disk fails to work on my system because the SSL connection times out when trying to transfer files to the online storage. Using SSL on websites such as PayPal works fine.
I tried troubleshooting the issue with Jungle Disk Tech Support and we have found out that after uninstalling NOD32 Jungle Disk works fine (Disabling the real-time scanner didn't work, only a complete uninstall).

I'm running Windows 7 64bit, latest NOD32 version 4.0.467 and latest Jungle Disk version 2.62b (Both are 64bit versions of the programs)

I've contacted ESET Tech Support and these are the steps we've tried:
    1. Add Jungle Disk to the excluded folders under "Anti-virus and antispyware" - Didn't work, the connection timed out.
    2. Disable scan of network drives under Real-time file system protection - Didn't work, the connection timed out.
    3. Add Jungle Disk to the unfiltered addresses under "Address Managment" in HTTP, HTTPS - Can't be done. according to Jungle Disk Tech Support: "There is no specific address or range to enter into there. Jungle Disk connects to several different servers, and Amazon servers and the actual connection can change due to load balancing."
    4. Installation of Nod32 version 3 works(!) However, Windows 7 gives a prompt stating that NOD32 version 3 has known compatibility issues and should not be used.

So currently my choice is either not backing up my computer or running a Anti-Virus program with compatibility issues (And it's even more frustrating that I payed for them both).
I would appreciate any help because I'm quite lost at the moment...
    Thank you very much
    Oren.

I've found that there are other SSL issues in version 4, in my case SSL vpn client connection is unbearable slow, we had to disable SSL scanning completeley.

Hopefully it will be fixed sometime, the only problem is that there is very little detailed information in the release notes making you have to trial and error all the time to see wheter it's fixed or not :doubt:

This was tested on 4.0.314 and 4.0.417, 4.0.424, (x64) I don't think I ever bothered on 4.0.437 and 4.0.467, I simply doesn't have the time to do this trial and error all the time.

    Regards Göran

How to you disabl SSL scanning?
Are you refering to the "Protocol filtering" field? If so I have tried it already and it didn't work, it's set to not scanning SSL connection and still fails.

To disable SSL scanning there are two settings you have to change and to change one of them ths other one have to be enabled. This is a odd kind of behavior and find it hard to believe this is how it's supposed to be, but doesn't seems like Eset will ever change it either.

Check the link to the post below for a description how to disable SSL scanning:

I'm not setting this in the client, since we use a ESET remote management server for administration and updates I apply the config changes from the console.
