It has come to my attention that there are many folk who wish to to be able to pin the desktop to the task bar to the left of there computer using windows 7 ?
For those of you who wish to do this there is a small utility available for you to do so.

As it stands at the moment the show /peek at the desktop is to the far right of the computer

As i say this unity will position back to the left hand side of your computer just like as in xp/vista

There are many tutorials going around on how to achieve this manually with various degree's of success and having evaluated on what's happening in many forums i felt it was time to put everyone out of there misery and post this link :D

    enjoy

    Hello Nick

Out of interest, does toggling Winkey + D work in Win 7?

    Cheers

    OK, thanks.

I understand why people want the fix - I just wanted to make sure Microsoft hadn't taken away anything else!

well the quick launch is missing but that is easy to replace. however getting it back to xp/vista style that there are those may prefer with the >> and all icons hidden still remains to be fixed by a utility

Yeah, it sucks extremely having been used for years (XP & Vista) to click left bottom to see the desktop. At least they could have given an option (left/right).

likewise, but it took me only a week at MOST to get used to the way windows 7 is, now it feels just like it did back on Vista and XP for me. i think its more convenient having the show desktop thing wer it is in Win7 anyways, its not in the way and an ugly icon, just a nice little bar.

It's fine on the right except for one thing,
When you have many programs launching automatically, the mouse gets put in the right corner, and it gets activated on start up, so you can't see your apps.
