My NOD32 2.7 license was renewed in May and everything seemed fine until yesterday. I've noticed that IMON isn't running. I've no idea how it was disabled and can't get it back on.

When I try pressing start to launch it, a pop up window appears asking me for a password. But my password isn't working. I tested some other options but everything is password protected, including uninstalling NOD to install it again.

I'm definitely using the correct password, because I was even able to download an upgrade to version 4 with it. I also checked the FAQ here on the forum but ironically the link to Password protected settings, can't remember the password isn't working. Again, I haven't forgotten my password or received a new one.

Without IMON working I don't feel safe doing anything on the internet. Can anyone help, please?

    You need to :
    - download and run a NOD32 v2 unlock utility (because your installation is locked/password-protected)
    - contact ESET Technical support and provide them with the code that the utility generates
    - ESET will reply back with unlock code which you use to unlock the installation.

Finally , it is a good idea to upgrade to v3 or v4 of NOD32 , or at least perform reinstallation of v2.7

N.B.! this password (that we talk about) has nothing to do with your Username and Password (they are for the license)

Thank you for the explanation and advice. I'm definitely going to upgrade to version 4 as soon as I unlock NOD. :)

It's been a long time but unfortunately nothing has changed.

I downloaded unlock.exe with difficulty, as the eset page directed me to Slovak (?) website, where I couldn't understand a world, so I googled the application somehow.

I don't know if it is the right one though, because it didn't serve its purpose. I got the unlock code from eset and after using it, according to that application it's done. Clearly, it isn't if my NOD is as much inaccessibly password protected as before.

I asked ESET support for detailed, step by step advise but received the following message in reply: "Make sure you are logged in using an administrative account for the unlock program to work." I am always logged in as an administrator, but I checked this setting just in case.

Of course they suggested calling them as an alternative, but since are only available till 5.30m, it's not an option for me.

What can I do do unlock this antivirus? I'm getting desperate.
    Please, help.

It is an easy taks , generally .

In order to be able to help you and not talk in general , could you post a few screenshots of what have you downloaded , what you do and what error messages you see , please .

Here are instructions how to make screenshots (if you have never made them before)

I uploaded 3 screen shots in the attachments.

The information from my download manager is on top.

The next screen shot shows unlock.exe after entering the code from ESET and before pressing any key (which results in the application disappearing).

The final screen shot is of NOD when I try to launch IMON.

    Hi!

Sorry about the delay . I can see the problem very well - the Unlock utility you use is wrong . This one is for v3 and v4 - it does NOT work for v2

    Please ,delete it .

Download and run the correct one:
    http://www.eset.com/files/unlock2.7.exe

Post your ID here and someone from ESET (or even me) will tell you the corresponding unlock password .

When you have the unlock password , run the utility again and enter it . This will unlock your v2.

Then , attempt to uninstall it . Hopefully , this will be possible . Reboot at the end .

    After reboot :
    1> Delele manually C:\Program files\ESET folder
    2> Perform Winsock repair

    Goto Start –> Run
    type cmd and click OK.
    Type netsh winsock reset
Press ENTER . Restart immediately !

N.B. ! There is a space between the commands , example netshSPACEwinsockSPACEreset

    3> Download / install the very latest version - 4.0.467 or 3.0.694 from www.eset.com/download

4> Make sure your are protect -> www.microsoft.com/protect

    Thank you!

I am now at home . As soon as I go to the office , I'll post back the corresponding ID for your installation of v2 NOD32 (if someone from ESET reads this and has the chance , he/she can post it , too :) )

Then , follow the remaining part of the instructions.
