Out of all cloud-only products Panda Cloud Antivirus is the one that offers the most protection for offline, as it includes not only a cached copy of Collective Intelligence of the stuff that's circulating but also local heuristics and local detections for polymorphic, scripts, file infectors, generic sigs, etc.

The offline protection included is based on the community aspect and telemetry from all users, therefore it is really effective at protecting its users from the malware that is affecting "its" users (versus Symantec users, McAfee users, etc.). It is true that it does not protect against *absolutely everything* while offline (old trojans, inactive stuff, etc.), but it doesn't need to either.

    I got a question

I am playing games like Team fortress 2 , Unreal Tournament 3 and settlers. These are heavy games. Will Panda cloud antivirus make my system slower when i play online and panda checks if the files not a virus?

As only new PE files are checked against the cloud (and only small signatures of them), you should see that it slows down PC playing less than a regular on-access scanner of a traditional antivirus.

The best is to try it out yourself. As this is still a beta and we're fine-tuning some issues, after install make sure to do an on-demand scan of the entire PC (to fill the cache, otherwise disable background scanning http://blog.cloudantivirus.com/2009/07/21/known-issue-with-beta2-synchronous-background-scan/) and then try playing games, using many apps at the same time, etc.

It's nice to save and print the log file but is there no possibility to clean/reset the log file? :)

Under Computer Manager (right-click "My PC", then "Manage"), go to "Services" and stop the Panda Cloud Antivirus service (NanoServiceMain).

Then also within Computer Manager look under Event Viewer for a "Nano" log. Right-click and "clear" it (you may also save it before clearing it if you want to restore it later).

Start the service again and you should have an empty log in the Panda Cloud Antivirus interface.

The know issue of the stuck BackgroundScan is due to the interaction with the synchronous on-access cloud-scan (it was asynchronous in Beta1). This will be fixed in Beta3.

However you will still be able to deactivate it altogether if you wish.

We're running a little behind schedule due to some finetunings we need to do. We're hoping to get it out the door by mid-october approximately.

I got a pop up message at the bottom of the screen: "Your internet connection is slow, the scan may take longer than expected". So Panda was doing the background scan again? I wasn't able to start a few other programs because of this issue - also problems with the internet connection

I have a 4 MBit internet connection, it's definitive not slow - what's the matter with Panda?

If you have BackgroundScan disabled it should stay disabled. It's not really a problem of the BackgroundScan, but rather a conflict between the synchronous on-access cloud-scan and the BackgroundScan, which happens normally during startup.

We are almost finished with the Beta3 which will have this issue fixed. Should be ready to release in a couple of weeks from now :)

There are any new feature in the beta3?
Are you going to add a tab with statistical data?

We will have a complete statistical activity monitor of Collective Intelligence, but in the website, not the product interface.

When you say "cached copy of Collective Intelligence..." does this cached copy survive reboot?

The result I tried is that Pand C AV can't detect the newest trojian when it

    can't connect the Internet...

It seems that Panda C AV is useing the Internet database...As what they

    mean...Cloud Scan...

Actually there's only Beta3 Preview available, but it only has support for Windows 7 and Vista x64.

The real (final) Beta3 version will come out in a few days.
