I decide if the total price suits me, and if it does then I buy. What they do about the money is up to them. If one does not like where the money goes, then don't buy. The free edition is a great AV.

I went for the suite as it runs well on my system. It might be a year before I install it as I like what I am using now so far.

And what? Did they want more from you? No .. then why are you complaining? Btw: I paid 19,95 EUR (!) which ist much more than 20 US $, but that aside what is your problem man? I am not sure you understand what it is either. If this artificial 'problem' is really your only problem you have consider yourself very lucky. ;)

Maybe I am stupid but I understand not at all what is your point. Think about it: It makes no difference if they pay their OWN (!) foundation AFTER *you* paid for the product (20) or if they let you pay this small fee (5) 'directly' and get for themself the rest (15). - In BOTH cases YOU support that foundation. So really .. what is your point and are you sure about it? ;) Frankly? I'd wish there were more enterprises spending to such foundations instead of getting all the money only for shareholders etc. -> Avira :thumb:

It's a german company and that is from their website:

And they are doing exactly that! So I see no reason for any complaints? - 5 EUR for each sold Premium or Suite version is going to that foundation. They say that and I am pretty sure they do it. - That this 5 EUR is on the receipt is good for clarity (so they can't NOT give this 5 EUR to Auerbach else it would be fraud!) and maybe has other reasons too you don't understand.

    guest .

You are very rude. And your first line in your last post is wrong. If you read my earlier posts thoroughly, you would understand the complaint . As a matter of fact ...I should phrase this another way. Is anyone able to say why Avira charges this on top of the purchase price? That is really what I want to know. Good or bad , why do they do this ? Just curious . And JerryM . I agree to a point with you. Total is what I am interested in as well. The money they force you to pay for the Foundation in order to get the product is just wrong to me . Like anything else, if they want money for it , there should be a place to put the amount you wish to contribute or a No Thanks option . Easy enough. I am just asking why is all .
Are they giving to the foundation twice ?
    Cheers

To simplify for anyone that does NOT understand , the price to buy Avira Premium, for example, is $26.95. not the $20.45 they say it costs. In the cart you have the product you wish to purchase and the Foundation is listed below. The Foundation must be paid $6.50 on top of the $20.45 for the product. You cannot edit the Foundation price or remove it.

How did you get 4 years for $54? If you ordered twice how did the price of each not double one order?

Perhaps the Avira company has the right to offer their product the way they want to, with full disclose about the contribution to the Auerbach Foundation ? Nobody is forcing you to buy it. :D

Just read their website what's about this foundation and why the founder of Avira thought it would be a good idea to set up such foundation and provide it with money as they do.

And what do you mean with 'on top'? They say for each bought license of certain products -> 5 EUR to this foundation. - I think you are even worse in mathematics than I am and that can't be good. ;)

It's not on top it's an amount from the money you anyway had to pay! You can see this from different points of view but if you think one minute about it you see: they pay that money from their turnover. You not have to pay additionally (that's what you think and it's wrong!) but they take 5 EUR from what you have to pay and donate this to Auerbach foundation. - Very simple to understand, really! :)

Why you don't understand this? Or is this a troll attempt?

Well ... they can do whatever they want and surely don't care what you or I have to say about it. :argh: That's life .. get over it and buy where no foundation is involved!

Avira has this policy and there is nothing wrong about it or the way they are doing it. You just don't seem to understand. o_O

You are correct . I do not have to buy and I do not . Just wondering why they do this . The advertising is misleading. I am not losing sleep over this . My goodness people in here get irritated easily. Just wondering why they market it as such.? Anyway , no answers . Just hate . Sorry i posted it here .
    Cheers

This isn't true as I stated. They do exactly what they say. You just are misinformed (babble about percentage) and do not WANT to understand. :(

You should. It's very easy to understand and you don't. I couldn't sleep knowing this, really!

Are you talking about yourself here? ;)
Or is this you admitting that you are a troll?

What? I wasted lots of time to give you plenty of answers. And there is no hate, believe me. Maybe pity. :D - But who is now 'easily irritated'?

    Relax man!

I purchased the suite, and am considering the Premium. I have not found a chart that shows the differences in the Premium and the Free. Do they have a chart that I have missed?
I probably would not use the Premium instead of the suite, and wonder if it offers significant advantages over the Free.
    Thanks for the help.

    Jerry

    Hey!

For all the people who paid via the website- do they send the license by mail? (because they asked me for my adress (street, building etc).

I suspect you are correct. Anyway I am still wondering if I want the Premium, but I had better make up my mind fast or it will be gone. That will save me a few bucks, though.

I tend to think that the Free combined with SAS or MBAM with a good firewall would be more than adequate protection for me.

    Jerry

The temptation is in deed very strong... I hope the offer ends soon before i fall into the addiction trap. I keep telling myself that i don't need it, i don't need it, i don't need it. :ouch:

(I have disabled Twister while i type this, i don't want to hurt its feelings).
