Hi guys n girls I wonder what you think of ResoMail, i dont really get the system, how to check if its encrypted. Is it safe from like data sniffing, or i wonder if the password generated is not a weakness. Also after installed on computer it will leave email traces on computer with no security really, so easy for computer forensics to restore and read. Im I wrong or is this program secure? Would it be more secure if put on a encrypted usb stick and only run from there and saftley delete new files with another app? Can people recommend other good secure, very secure email services, not hushmail or cyber-rights. What about cryptomail?
It encrypts your communication. And it's safe from data eavesdropping. It's a one time password to allow you to generate a secure key pair for given id. Yes it can leave traces. To not leave any traces it's recommended to install ResoMail on encrypted partition, like TrueCrypt for example, by the way with TrueCrypt you also have plausible deniability. Yes, you can install ResoMail on USB stick and use it from there, this way it also will leave no traces on computer.
I like the whole approach and especially since it's not based on windows. The only thing which is a big negative is the use of Java. Anything requiring java is out of the question. I hope that will change or be replaced by some other way to use the services.
I would say i dont like java either. Somone may change the java apple, and then its screwd, like hushmail did/ do, its not the same java apple as posten as open source on there site.
It seems that you're concerned about Java applets, ResoMail is an application which runs on Java platform, it's not an applet. It's on your computer and you have full control of it.
I think this could be big, but needs more explaining how it works compared to hushmail and so on. Thinking of server and all that. Why is this secure and so on. Alot of people are leaving hushmail looking for a new one, but it needs more explaining for people to shift. Should be a portable app that is encrypted so even if someone gets the computer they shouldent be able to read the email. Also something comfirming that encryption was succesfully. Maybe like you can encrypt the text before sendning it so you already send it encrypted. Dont really know to much, but i know that people are looking for something like this.
