    Right-click scan preview

New in build 74 are some parts of the much requested Right-Click Scan feature!

There is currently no integration with the shell yet but you can use the following command line to scan multiple files:

    HitmanPro35.exe "c:\some bad file.exe" "c:\another bad file.dll"

... or to scan a folder:

    HitmanPro35.exe c:\

Make sure that if you want to scan a folder, you end the path with a backslash!

Please let me know what you think of this new feature. It is a preview feature so there could be issues.

Note: The folder scan feature does NOT scan recursively.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Build 75 will have the integration. The release is slated for tomorrow or the day after that.
Build 74 was never intended to be released. But since simisg found a problem you guys at Wilders have an early preview.

With the right-click scan feature, you're getting my cash. Few licences at least. :)

Thanks for stopping by Erik, greatly appreciated.

We follow this same mentality, although we have some and are adding more local analysis of non-PE files but we will not be consulting the cloud for non-executables (because of privacy and volume reasons).

Started using HitMan Pro for the last couple of days, seams like a good on-demand scanner.
Looking forward to the right click scanning built into the shell. (for convenience)
Is there any plans in the future to implement some sort of guard for real time protection?
Also any plans for maybe a custom scan option?

If real-time is in the works, hopefully they also keep the on-demand scanner as an option, as that is what a lot of people, and many of their current users, would want.

Build 75 with Right-click Scan released!

    Build 75 (for x86) released:

    • Added the "Show 'Scan with Hitman Pro' on files and folders in Windows Explorer" option under Settings.
This feature is also known as the much requested 'right-click scan'.
Note: Scanning a folder does not scan recursively due to volume reasons.
    • Updated the internal whitelist.

Hitman Pro automatically updates itself to the latest build. Although the site now also lists build 75.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

I just tried the right click scanning. I downloaded trojansimulator from here-

    http://www.misec.net/trojansimulator/

When I right click the zip file HMP shows the file as clean but when unzipped HMP flags both .exe's as malware from the different av's except for avira.

FWIW- if I open HMP I am unable to then do a right click scan. I can only do a right click scan with HMP closed.

FWIW, here are things I'd like to see in Hitman:
    - built-in scheduler with randomization
    - ability to save and view scan logs
    - ability to add exclusions (i.e. I don't want Hitman to try to upload 1.4Gb Vista ISO for analysis)
    - silent scanning without any splash screens before or after
    - enterprise version with centralized management
    - on-access protection that is as light and fast as on-demand (yeah, I know..)

Re: Build 75 with Right-click Scan released!

Thank you for adding this feature... it's what the doctor ordered. ;)

Would you please explain in Settings what this means, and whether or not is it advisable to have it selected?

"Show unknown suspicious files (Early Warning Scoring)" :)

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Hitman Pro 3.5 does not upload ISO or other data files like office documents, images or music files. It only uploads PE-files (files with a DOS/PE-header).

Furthermore, before a PE-file is uploaded it is LZMA compressed (see Settings). Hitman Pro has a upload limit of 25MB per file (either compressed or uncompressed). This limit was recently increased from 12MB to 25MB.

Is it possible to do away with the scanner result screen having a 10 second count down until it can be closed? :)

    Eric,
Strange, I saw Hitman trying to upload my Solar Winds ISO which was close to 50Mb, had to cancel it. This was with older build, 70 or less, I believe.

That is odd. If you right-click "Scan with Hitman Pro" the file does it try to upload it?
