    Hi

I've run into three problems with NOD32 Antivirus v4 on Vista x64, the first being that a day or two after installation of NOD32 v4 it will stop the computer from being able to access its hard drives freezing the computer, you can move the mouse and sometimes use the computer for seconds to a minute or two which I think is due to stuff being cached into RAM.

It seems to happen most after or during a backup using Acronis True Image 11 or when switching user accounts.

Reboot and it will do it again at some point. This is with all versions of v4 from the first to 4.0.437. NOD32 Antivirus v3 does not do this.

On my two 32-bit XP Pro computers I've used v4 with no problem from day one.

The second problem which I only discovered yesterday after installing 4.0.437 over the weekend is that NOD32 v4 is stopping JavaScript from running within Opera 10 on WordPress sites using the Thematic Theme Framework such as the demo site: http://themeshaper.com/demo/thematic/, with the JavaScript disabled it stops the drop down menu looking as it should.

At the same time it also seems to stop other JavaScript on the page running such as Slimbox 2 as on http://www.gtdev.co.uk/wp/ (site work in progress) this could be down to both using jQuery. In other browsers the JavaScript runs fine.

4.0.437 does not do this on my two XP computers.

The third problem again only discovered after installing 4.0.437 over the weekend is NOD32 slowing access to my routers web interface (Draytek Vigor 2820) down to dial-up/ISDN speeds, which other people seem to be having problems with: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=250230

NOD32 v3 was uninstalled before v4 install and returning to 3.0.694 all of the above problems are gone.

Details of the computer with the problem:

Vista x64 SP2 with all Windows Updates installed.
Intel Desktop Board DX48BT2 with latest BIOS.
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650.
    8Gb RAM (2x TW3X4G1333C9DHX).
Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 4870 PCS Extreme 512Mb video card with latest drivers.
I was using a Seagate ST3500320AS as the main drive but am now using a Western Digital WD5001AA, I have the freezing problem with both.

Re: NOD32 Antivirus v4 freezing hard drive, blocking JavaScript and slow router inter

I have a similar problem on Server 2008 x64 using NOD AV v4 x64, where every day or so the server just locks up and needs rebooted. As described it is the disk access that stops, mouse is ok, so OS is alive but it can't really do anything.
