I added Prevx Edge about 14 weeks ago. Everything else I've been with longer. It feels right to me! ;)

I remember reading a story about an aspiring pool/billiards player who asked a great champion what is the best professional cue stick to get, some costing thousands of dollars...
The champion quietly turned around and picked up a nearby broom (this happened in a local pub) and proceeded to totally own the table using the broom's handle as a cue stick, taking on all comers.
When there were no more, he walked over to the bar and had a beer, all this time not saying a single word.

After reading this thread for a few weeks, I have come to the conclusion that I could be quite safe with any of the setups that I have seen listed here.

In conclusion, although my own setup works for me now, in the future I may find one of these setups a better match.

    Yes, of course.

I wasn't referring to the mental patient setups that have a security program from every genre, those that take the concept of "layering" to some obsessive-compulsive level.
Sandboxing, VMs, HIPS, imaging; some have all these in there and then some.

I guess they should be complimented for their skill at getting so many different software working together without any conflicts...

Despite running on Vista Home Premium (and being a noob at security setup), with Sully's PGS I managed to turn on SRP (set at default-deny policy, only allowing some files or directories to increase usability/convenience) as anti-executable. Super light and no conflict. :D

PGS is an excellent small application. :thumb: :thumb:

    Latest setup:
Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, Windows built-in FW enabled
    SRP enabled (using Sully's PGS)

    Real Time:
    Sandboxie (paid)

    On Demand: Returnil (free)

Behind router/SPI FW, plus external off line harddisk for backups of data and images. OpenDNS usage is configured in the router.

    XP Pro SP3

    Security Application (real time)
    - DefenseWall Beta V3 (closed test group)

    - Banking/Shopping with DW in banking/shopping mode (IE8 ) plus keyscrambler free (sort off ad hoc)
    - Other/Daily browsing with Iron (sandboxed tabs) in -incognito mode plus ZapCookie/Google ANONymiser

    - Other Ad hoc applications related to security
    a) Hitman 3.5 free
    b) A2 Free
    c) Paragon for image backups
    d) Synback Free for data backups

DW has not thrown a pop-up on wife's PC yet, so I checked a few times whether the firewall was working ==> so white list option works well for average user.
