Avast! does miss threats, as do all other antiviruses. Not because it is their fault, or zero-day threats, but there are so many threats circulating some slip through. That is where something like S360, MBAM or SuperAntiSpyware step in. The threats that do slip through, may be detected by one of these applications.

And that is why on Wilders, you see so many people using more then one antimalware (on demand). Because with 2 or more, your risks of letting a threat through decrease as the number of signatures protecting you increase. However, that is still not to say that even if you have scanned with all your applications, will you be 100% free of malware, as sometimes threats are overlooked or not yet discovered.

yes i understand that, but you saying that iobit targets what avast misses, is misleading is all im saying, so its an antimalware like all the others out there.

Haha. It isn't misleading in any shape or form. Security 360 does detect malware that other anti-viruses miss. Nothing is specific to any one vendor.

no, what you said was misleading, you said what iobit does is, target what avast misses, but there is no way of telling what avast misses, now your saying it isnt vendor specific, so what i propose to you is, what do all antivirus vendors miss, if thats what iobit is targeting. you cannot tell me, because that isnt what iobit does, your trying to market your product more than it is, its just an antimalware product and you have stated that it has a small database, that is all.

I am not employed by IObit, nor do I earn a profit. I am simply a volunteer. Dell boy, rather then debating this on the open forum, I would be pleased to explain it to you via PM.

    RC has DOG.
Uninstall and reinstall, there might be a problem with installing the RC over the top of previous Beta versions.

So what's the overall assessment of this program? I am thinking about using it on Vista along with Avira and Prevx. Thumbs up, thumbs down or somewhere in the middle?

How does it compare against a behavior blocker like Mamutu? IObit Security 360 uses signature files and a module for new threats?

    Or Prevx?
I would like to do some testing next to Kaspersky.

prevx is a mature application.... has very good detection but is not free for prevention and repair. latest iobit version has good free protection bahavior and singnature and light hips startup registry protection but its new.... im sure geting better with the time. when i test it against some zero threats has stop half of them. i think is better from mamutu but not from prevx . i have iobit 360 along side with avast! with out conflict

What's the difference between the pro and free version? On the Pro page they say that it is free for home use and yet they show a price of $24.95. So, is this a typo or is the Pro version really free?
